This song reminds me of something special that happened to us. Hoobastank were my mum's favourite band when I was growing up, so she would always play their records in the car on the way to school. When her mother died, we used the money in her will to go to the States, as a reward for the stress she went through with her mother's declining health.

I remember it was on the 27th of July that we were in a mall in Orange, LA, when we saw something on a billboard - it was a poster for a free public Hoobastank concert. On that day - which happened to be my mum and dad's wedding anniversary - we went to see our favourite band who are renowned for being on an endless world tour, with no planning whatsoever.

It was as if there was some guardian angel who just wanted to see my mum happy again, and it worked. It was against all odds but it happened and it was one of the best days of my life, even though I do not remember it very well as I was quite young at the time.

As an 11yr old girl I’ve recently found out that my mother past away and she was mentally ill and an alcoholic. But putting all that to the side I already knew that she loved me but when we were going through her phone we saw this song in an album and the album was called ‘my funeral song and for my beautiful daughter’ I never knew how much she loved me until now. She made that album (this was the only song that was in it) a month before she died and it kills me that I couldn’t do anything to help her. I will treasure this song forever and always❤
