Truly
ÕäÄÝ¡¤½Ü¿ËÑ·Janet Jackson Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When I'm all alone with you
We do the things that lovers do
Tell me is this not true
When I look into your eyes
I'm convinced that you're mine
Or is this just in my mind

You feel like my everything
When you're near my aura beams
My eyes tell everything
Don't you know the joy you bring

Just to be around you
So crazy about you
Want to get away with you
La di da di do you
Feel the ocean's breeze
Where will this all lead
Deeper in my arms hopefully

Could you be the one for me
Am I blind and not see
You're truly in love with me
And the things that you do
Always seems to lead to
You're truly in love with me

You treat me just like a queen
So good to me, you make my heart sing
My smile says everything
Love everything about you
Even the air around you

If I gave my all to you
Would you change your attitude
Could your love still be true
Would it always feel brand new
Only this I want from you
If I gave my heart to you

Am I wrong for loving you
Oh the way that I do
Truly in love with you
Could you be the one for me
Am I blind and not see
You're truly in love with me

And the quality time
Makes me feel you're all mine
I'm truly in love with you
And the things that you do
Always seem to be too
You're truly in love with me

So crazy about you
Will it always feel brand new
Want to get away with you
Would you change your attitude
Where would this all lead
If I gave my heart to you
Deeper in my arms, hopefully

Am I wrong for loving you
Oh the way that I do
Truly in love with you
Could you be the one for me
Am I blind and not see
You're truly in love with me
All the quality time
Makes me feel you're all mine
I'm truly in love with you
When I'm all alone with you
We do things that lovers do

I'm truly in love with you
(You're truly in love with me)

Overall Meaning

In the song "Truly" by Janet Jackson, the singer is questioning if their lover feels the same way they do. They describe feeling completely in love with this person, and that their eyes tell everything about how they feel. The singer finds themselves wanting to spend all their time with their lover, and feels that they are truly in love. However, they also express concern that their lover may not feel the same way, and that they may be blind to reality. The song ends with both the singer and the lover expressing their love for each other, and the singer being reassured that their lover truly loves them back.

One interesting fact about the song "Truly" is that it was released on Janet Jackson's seventh studio album, "All for You," in 2001. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and was later certified double Platinum. Another interesting fact is that "Truly" was never released as an official single, but it still became one of the most popular songs on the album. The song was co-written by Jackson and James Harris III, who has worked on several of Jackson's albums. Additionally, the song features a sample from the classic R&B group The Main Ingredient's song "Summer Breeze."

Another fact is that the song features prominent use of the vocoder, which is an electronic musical instrument that can produce voice-like sounds. The song invokes a pleasant and romantic atmosphere, with soothing and mellow R&B beats. Another interesting point is that while the song is about being in love, it actually starts with a question rather than a declaration of love, and flips between confident and insecure throughout the lyrics.

Some other interesting points are that, according to Janet Jackson's official website, the song was co-produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who have worked on many of Jackson's previous hit songs including “Control” and “Rhythm Nation.” The song's lyrics have also been noted for their vulnerability and honesty. In fact, Jackson has stated in interviews that several of the songs on "All for You" were inspired by her own personal experiences. Furthermore, the album won a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording in 2002 for the album's title track, "All for You."

Chords: Unfortunately, the chords for "Truly" by Janet Jackson are not publicly available.

Their age gap isn’t what makes it creepy and wrong, it’s the fact that she’s known him since he was a child (16)
Groomer.

@speaknowstan.13

It was weird enough for me with that age gap, but when I found out he was practically groomed by her, my stomach started twisting 🤢

@thatstrangebuggirl4150

@♡LovelyVibez♡ right. I mean with age gaps when BOTH PEOPLE MEET IN ADULTHOOD can be weird but not my place to judge. But when you’ve known someone when they were a child that is just so beyond disturbing and creepy…predatory…
Anyways, anyone who supports this or doesn’t seem an issue is either young and naive themselves, been groomed themselves, or is a creep as well. Big red flags if someone supports this.

@0w3nbruh20

Grooming is based 💪

@The_Original_Man

Be honest the age gap is also creepy

@thatstrangebuggirl4150

@1k American it depends. I’ve personally always been attracted to older men (not more then 20 years older then me) I genuinely just don’t feel attracted to men my age or younger. That being said I’m also an adult though. So I feel if both people are adults (being barely 18 does not count as an adult in my eyes) then it’s unconventional but not wrong. (Assuming no one is being taken advantage of)
