Away
Überfolk Lyrics

Go away from the world
Let it have its own way
Let it fall upon days
Ringed in fire and anguish
Just let it be
To stand in the way
Is to be lit ablaze
Carries to the field
Where he meets those who hold
Onto values revealed
As the world of tradition
They don’t need your permission
To believe what their fathers
And mothers believe
Away from the world
Go away from the world
Let it have its own way
Let it fall upon days
Scenes of fire and misery
Just stand aside
The engine has seized
The machine shall soon die
A death so befitting
A world caught in pain
Where the puppets watch puppets
In a theatre insane
No intervention will save us from this
It must run its course
And reveal the abyss
Go away from the world
Go away from the world
Let them choose to be slaves
If they’re born to be slaves
Freedom can’t be forced on a people
If they can live in the dark
And believe it is day
The only path left for the sovereign soul
Is to go to the mountains
And forests alone
Flow with the energy
Maintain integrity
Be what your fathers and mothers decreed
Great beautiful forest
Let me breathe you in my soul
Let me climb you to the heavens
Help me forget the world below
And then it all fell before me
Like the smoke was blown away
The grail that I had been out seeking
Had been inside me all the way
Away from the world
Go away from the world
And discover yourself
In resplendent health
Honour
Not freedom
Is the greatest of rights
It’s the source of all wisdom
And the will in your fight
The song "Away" by Überfolk talks about the importance of distancing oneself from the modern world and the societal constructs that have been created. The lyrics suggest that trying to resist the changes that are happening in the world can only lead to destruction and pain. The song encourages listeners to embrace traditions and values that have been passed down from their ancestors and to find peace in nature.
The opening lines urge the listener to go away from the world and let it have its own way. The world is described as being in a state of fire and anguish, and standing in the way will only lead to being lit ablaze. Those who hold onto traditional values do not need permission to believe in what their fathers and mothers believed. The song suggests that the world is caught in a cycle of pain and puppetry, and there is no intervention that can save us from the abyss. The only option left is to go to the mountains and forests alone and maintain one's integrity while flowing with the energy of nature.
The verse about the great beautiful forest suggests that nature can provide respite from the chaos of the world. The lyrics describe climbing to the heavens, helping to forget the world below. The grail that had been sought after had been inside all along, and the only way to discover it is to go away from the world and discover oneself in resplendent health. The final lines of the song state that honor, not freedom, is the greatest of rights and the source of all wisdom in the will to fight.

Go away from the world
Leave the society behind

With the fires that the modern man
With the civilization's flames
Carries to the field
Brings to the world

Onto values revealed
The ancestral ways
As the world of tradition
The society which follows its customs
They don’t need your permission
They do not require your consent

World of devastation and affliction
Just stand aside
Don't get involved
The engine has seized

Let them choose their servitude
If they’re born to be slaves
If they are destined to obey
Freedom can’t be forced on a people
Liberty cannot be imposed
If they can live in the dark
If they can dwell in ignorance
And believe it is day
And delude themselves that it is light
The only path left for the sovereign soul
The only way for independent individuals
Is to go to the mountains
Is to retreat to the wilderness
And forests alone
And be self-sufficient
Flow with the energy
Harmonize with nature
Maintain integrity

Be what your fathers and mothers decreed
Follow the principles of your forefathers
Great beautiful forest
Impressive and stunning woodland
Let me breathe you in my soul
Let me take you in my being
Let me climb you to the heavens
Let me ascend to the sky via you
Help me forget the world below
Assist me in neglecting the society beneath
And then it all fell before me
And everything was revealed to me
Like the smoke was blown away
Like the haze cleared
The grail that I had been out seeking
The goal that I had been pursuing
Had been inside me all the way
Was within me all along
And discover yourself
And find your inner self
In resplendent health
In sublime well-being
Honour
Dignity
Not freedom
Not liberty
Is the greatest of rights
Is the most significant entitlement
It’s the source of all wisdom
It is the origin of all knowledge
And the will in your fight
And the determination for your struggle

"...Let them choose to be slaves
If they’re born to be slaves
Freedom can’t be forced on a people
If they can live in the dark
And believe it is day..."
Brilliant lyrics. Unfortunately the majority of people choose to be slaves and choose not to see the light Faced with a hard truth, they will choose the ease and familiarity of their shackles. So be it, we hold the key to our own shackles, and so it is up to us to free ourselves.
This whole song really resonates with me, and it is like a beacon in the darkness, guiding the way. Great work everyone!

Hi - I love this song, I also love your old stuff, the last RAHOWA album was mind blowing spiritual stuff. And that's coming from a Native American. I grew up with a group of my friends who listened to Cult of the Holy War in my friends car. We were young and trapped on the reservation (concentration camp), and your stuff helped us to leave that horrible place of alcohol, shattered families, fading pasts, meth, and everything else. Who knows what we would have been without your music man. When America Goes Down, (is that the title?) played we all knew you were speaking the truth about this bleeding country. I heard you don't like your old stuff anymore, I hope that's not the case, you should be proud, brother, of your past, for it is a part of you. You can try to cut it out, excise it, but it is deeper than a politically correct scalpel can reach. Hope this makes sense. Continue on, brother.

I was looking for Rahowa Uberfolk album on here and found Uberfolk and didn’t know Burdi had been making music again, I love it

Glad you found us! The Überfolk album was never made, there is only a bootleg out there of some old demos where someone stole the mp3s and mastered them. Of course, some of those songs, now properly finished, ended up on Music for Nations. Perhaps a metal album will be next.

Überfolk Official I guess I should say I sort of feel bad for having a copy of that album then. I still love it though. Keep up the good work, Burdi!

Eh, that's ok. Enjoy it! We'll try to keep the new tunes coming, too.
