Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Ада Якушева's song Колыбельная paint a picture of a rainy and cold night where the rain tapping on the window pane disrupts the sleep of someone named Tanya. The first two lines of the verse create an image of the rain that is wandering outside, indifferent to the restfulness of those inside. Then, the focus shifts to Tanya, who is struggling to sleep due to the sound of the rain. The repetition of the word "Дождик" at the end of both lines creates an echo, emphasizing the disruption the rain is causing.

The following lines describe the dreariness of the night, with leaves and roofs getting soaked by the rain. However, the singer calls for a change in tone in the subsequent couplet, asking whoever is listening to the song to remember a song or a fairytale to share with Tanya. The last two lines suggest that the listener is someone who travels and knows a lot; hence the plea to share a story or a song.
