In 1991 BI-2 moved to Israel and disbanded in 1993. Shura moved to Australia where he joined a darkwave band, Chiron. He invited Leva to join it in 1996. Chiron was an obscure band, featuring vocals by Michael Aliani. Some of the Chiron songs were re-recorded and re-released in 2006 as the album "Chiron" by BI-2, with Leva's vocals.
In 1998 Leva and Shura moved to Russia to conquer the rock scene. They participated in the soundtrack for the Брат 2 ("Brother II") movie by Alexey Balabanov, and soon became one of the most popular rock bands. In 2005 BI-2 together with Mихаил Карасев (Mikhail Karasev) (BI-2's lyrics writer and Shura's uncle) released the Нечётный Воин ("Odd Warrior") project, joined by many Russian rock and pop artists.

The lyrics to Би-2's song Время перемен (Time of Changes) talk about the difficulties of change and the feeling of being disconnected from what once felt familiar. The first two lines describe a feeling of being unfamiliar under new skies or circumstances, while they try to adapt to the changes. The next two lines describe the inevitable loss and betrayal that can happen in life, and the emptiness that is left in its place.
The third and fourth lines describe hearing laughter and feeling as though there is a barrier between the singer and the people around them, despite being physically present in the same space. The idea of departing, but leaving nothing behind or nothing being gained from it, is expressed in the final two lines of the chorus. The second verse describes the different paths and doubts that come with change, as well as the idea of finding comfort in silence or in familiar physical contact. The idea of chance and the unknown is also illustrated in the lyrics about the religion of random lines and the movement of a great river. Throughout the song, there is a sense of trying to adjust to the shifting nature of life, but ultimately feeling unsure and unfamiliar under the new circumstances.
