Glinka’s compositions were an important influence on future Russian composers, notably the members of The Five, who took Glinka’s lead and produced a distinctively Russian kind of classical music.

I love how people say that it's being played too fast. This piece is MEANT to be fast. The beat is set at 135, and this is by far the fastest piece I EVER played when I still played the cello.
