Mar

Una tarde gris y en el mar
Su barca se perdió
Cuentan que él dejó
A su amada Helena y en su
Vientre una historia de dos
Y las lunas pasaban
Dibujando en la arena
Esperando estaba Helena
Naufragio de un amor
A la deriva sin horizonte
Sal, mar y espera
Regreso de primavera
Le rogó a Lemasha
Tejer con sus cabellos una red
Tan grande como el mar
Cuentan que él volvió
Como a una estrella
Que a su amada iluminó
Todavía lo espera
Anochece en la rivera
Cada estrella que pasa
Su esperanza vuelve a casa
Naufragio de un amor
A la deriva sin horizonte
Sal, mar y espera
Regreso de primavera
The lyrics of Natalia Oreiro's song "Mar" talk about a woman named Helena, whose lover disappeared while sailing on a gray afternoon. He left behind his pregnant girlfriend with a love story of two. Helena bears it all and spends her time drawing names in the sand, always waiting for him.
As time passes by, Helena continues to wait, and every passing star takes her hope back home. In her desperation, she turns to Lemasha, asking her to weave a net as big as the sea with her hair. The song suggests that Helena waited for so long that the seasons changed, and the shipwreck of their love sailed aimlessly without a goal.
Natalia Oreiro's "Mar" is a moving and emotional song that talks about love and loss. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of a woman waiting for her lover, who may never return. The song offers a message of hope, assuring us that even though love may be lost, hope can endure.

Hermosa canción, con muy buenos arreglos. Con razón me había llamado tanto la atención cuando era chico y la escuche por primera vez.
