Though later you'll pretend you can and you'll mean it
You might think it's all in your head but you're not certain anymore
You might think it's all in your head but you're not certain anymore
I wouldn't put much talk in that cause the fact is
It doesn't matter what you ask, it's who you're asking
Well, I'd say go throw it away if it's not working anymore Well, I'd say go throw it away if it's not working anymore
I promise this is not a test
It's just I want you to be sure
It all comes back to common sense
I guess that's what you're looking for
I'll have to ask you to speak up so we're sure that
We're all perfectly clear on what we're ignoring
Well, I'd say go throw it away if it's not working anymore
Well, I'd say go throw it away if it's not working anymore
I promise this is not a test
It's just I want you to be sure
It all comes back to common sense
I guess that's what you're looking for
I promise this is not a test
It's just I want you to be sure
It all comes back to common sense
I guess that's what you're looking for
Well, you've been taken and it's gonna hurt
But loves a classic cause it always works
This is a classic bluff because it always works on you
I promise this is not a test, a test
I promise this is not a test
I promise this is not a test
It's just I want you to be sure
It all comes back to common sense
Oh, I guess that's what you're looking for
I promise this is not a test
It's just I want you to be sure
It all comes back to common sense
I guess that's what you're looking for
The lyrics of "Lethal Enforcer" by We Are Scientists convey a sense of confusion and uncertainty. The first verse expresses the difficulty in truly understanding what one sees and how one may pretend to understand it later. The repetition of the line, "you might think it's all in your head but you're not certain anymore" emphasizes the lack of clarity and certainty. The second verse touches on the idea that it's not always what you ask, but whom you ask that matters. The repeated suggestion to "go throw it away if it's not working anymore" implies a desire for a fresh start or a clean break from whatever the subject matter is. The chorus, "I promise this is not a test", repeats twice and the repetition itself hints at a subtle desperation, a desire to convince someone of something or an attempt to restore order. The lines, "it all comes back to common sense, I guess that's what you're looking for" suggest that there may not be a clear solution, but perhaps the solution is to trust your own judgement.
The last verse introduces a new concept related to love, specifically that even though it may hurt, love is always classic and it always works. The chorus repeats one last time, this time with a fading repetition of the line "I guess that's what you're looking for" suggesting a sense of resignation. Overall, the lyrics of "Lethal Enforcer" are abstract and metaphorical, portraying a sense of confusion and a desire for clarity and resolution.

I worked for Konami in the early 90s as a game tester and my boss was one of the producers of Lethal Enforcers. He programmed himself into the game — the guy with the gray suit, sunglasses, mustache, and mullet. We used to play this game in the lunch room while on our breaks. His name was Steve Johnson and you can see his name in the credits under “Game Graphics.”

That's amazing!!! Do you have any other fond memories of testing the game or working for Konami?

@ I was only there for one summer while on break in high school. I was assigned to the Sega Genesis team for Animaniacs and played the game eight hours a day all summer looking for programming bugs. Even though I could eventually beat the game in record time without dying, we had to explore all facets of the game and often had to slow play it in our bug search. All of our game play was recorded on VHS tapes. If we encountered a bug, we had to pause the game, play back the VHS tape, and call the programmer, a Japanese guy who I only heard say two things: “bug” and “no bug.” If we encountered a bug, we had to write up a detailed report and submit it to the programming team. Each morning we would receive a new copy of the game that would have updates from the day before and our testing would continue. It was an awesome job for a high school kid.

How many hours did you spend playing? The longest I’ve lasted alone was 10 minutes on one quarter, but you must’ve had time and money to burn, where hopefully you won because I never did at these games.

I used to put quarters in both guns and go in double wielding Chow Yun Fat style. What a classic game
