Brainstorm

Top marks for not trying
So kind of you to bless us with your effortlessness
We're grateful and so strangly comforted
And I wonder
Are you putting us under
Cause we can't take our eyes off the t-shirt
Well see ya later Innovator!
Some want to kiss some want to kick you
There's not a net you couldn't slip through
Or at least that's the impression I get
Cause you're smooth and you're wet
And she's not aware yet, but she's yours
She'll be sayin' "Use me"
Show me the Jacuzzi
I imagine that it's there on a plate
You're our rendezvous rate
Means you'll never be frightened
To make em wait for a while
I doubt it's your style
Not to get what you set
Out to acquire
The eyes are on fire
You are the un-forcasted storm
(Brian)
Calm, Collected and Commanding
(Top marks for not trying)
You hit the other story standing
With your renditions and jokes
I bet there's hundreds of blokes
That have wept cause you've stolen their...
Thunder
Are you putting us under
Cause we can't take our eyes of your t-shirt
And ties combination
Well see ya later
Innovator
The opening lines of Arctic Monkeys' song Brainstorm are directed towards someone named Brian, who is praised for his effortless manner. However, it seems that the praise might not be completely sincere, as the lyrics question whether Brian is putting everyone else under his spell. The reference to Brian's t-shirt and tie combination suggests that he might be more style than substance, and the chorus repeats the idea that he is a smooth operator who has everyone wrapped around his finger.
The second verse touches on the idea that Brian is a ladies' man, with some wanting to kiss him and others wanting to kick him. The singer suggests that Brian is so smooth that he could slip through any net, and that he has already set his sights on a woman who doesn't realize she's already his. The reference to a Jacuzzi and rendezvous rate implies that Brian is a player who knows how to charm and seduce.
The final section of the song returns to the idea of Brian being a storm or force of nature, with the lyrics describing him as calm, collected, and commanding. The use of the phrase "you've stolen their thunder" suggests that Brian is someone who can take the spotlight away from anyone else, and the final lines repeat the chorus and bid him farewell.
Overall, the lyrics of Brainstorm seem to be a satirical take on the idea of a charismatic and confident figure who has everyone under his spell. The references to style over substance, smooth talking, and seduction all add up to a portrait of someone who might not be as impressive as they appear.

It was a pleasure to record this in 1976, Total experience Studios. Belita Woods and Lamont Johnson killed the vocals. Should have been released as a single...I played guitar and high background vocals. Chuck Overton, fine sax.... BABY MAKIN' MUSIC FASHO! Greetings from Metro Detroit.

I know I will get some flack for this but I feel this song is in the Top 5 all time when it comes to R&B Ballads. This song is a masterpiece of composition. Simple in nature but pulls so much emotion from the arrangement. The way the background vocals interact with the lead singer and in the outro how the singer vamps until the end of the song is genius!! If your song is going to be almost 7 minutes long you know it better be good!
