I’ll be 22 in November, I’ve never made any attempts but I think about it every day, ever since I was in middle school to be honest. I feel ashamed to feel this way, quite frankly. Mostly because it’s my own fault. I have a great life at home, great family and friends, I should feel lucky to have just that. But I still feel very grey. I have no direction, I’m kind of jus coasting through life. Meaningless jobs and I have barely any money to my name. I have no goals, I jus wanna feel happy and I want to feel accomplished in myself, confident in myself. But I’m too lazy and scared to do anything to change it. Thank you for sharing this so many people out there need to know that they're not alone and that this is not an option. Both my mother and daughter died by suicide and I'm just devastated. That fucking sucks, that feeling of hopelessness really sucks. But I encourage you to keep staying alive even in hope that you will find a solution. I’ve been struggling with lots of negative emotions and thoughts for 3 and a half years. I still haven’t found a “complete” solution. I know a lot of people say it, but I’d recommend getting onto a therapist especially early on. I didn’t because myself and others told me “I just have to try harder at life, work, studying etc.” - and when you have a mental health illness that turns out to be bullshit. Because I did try hard at those things and it didn’t work out because my mental illness was (and still is) life debilitating in the first place. I wouldn’t say therapy has been my solution, but it certainly makes life more bearable knowing you can talk about all your painful shit with a professional. Also “shop” around with therapists if you have to, you may find your first 2 to be eh but then find your 3rd is great. Your pain is real fellow human, very real. Whatever you’re feeling valid. Sometimes the only thing you can do, is just keep going

I’m 14. I attempted once when I was 13 and again soon after I turned 14.
The first time, I took pills and medicine but I didn’t take enough. The second time, I tried to hang myself but what I used broke.
I didn’t have to go to hospital for either. It’s tough because I’m happy that I didn’t have the attention being drawn to me, but I also want people to know and to help.

The age you are at (early-mid teens) is the hardest because your emotions are all over the place and when you feel happy you feel amazing but when you feel down it’s unbearable.
I too tried to commit suicide and grateful I didn’t succeed. I’m 23 and all those overwhelming feelings are gone. I can handle them and they don’t take the toll on me like they used to.

Today (October 2nd, 2023) I am 11 years old suffering from depression, anxiety, self harm, insecurities, and trust issues. At lunch (I’m in 6th grade) I had my first ever suicidal thought of my life. My counselor is at my lunch so I had myself write it down and have my friend tell her I need to show my counselor something right then. She quickly got worried about me and my safety. We talked during my 7th period class about this thought I had. You could be wondering how I was thinking of ending myself. Well it was either starvation or bleeding out. I was finally able to redirect my thoughts during 6th period (keep in mind, my lunch is right before 3rd period.) I cried a few times because I was mad I let myself almost do it. Starvation seems not too big until I say I am also suffering from anorexia. All of this stress on an 11 year old who already gets made fun of before all of this began. Lord bless my soul and any people who can relate to me.

One of the hardest things for me about this is that I’m surrounded by elderly. My parents are much older than most for kids my age and thus, my aunties and uncles as well. Oh Jonah if only i could hug you now...im a mom of a survivor, 6 yrs ago it happened and he also had damages inside his body but in Gods will and healing power He was given a 2nd chance and He is now with a baby girl that was conceived right on the month we had him in and out of the hospital because of his internal injuries..so my grand daughter is an angel and made sense for my son to love and live this God given Life to the fullest..Amen!

i understand depression...

i been lonely and alone... they're both different things

I'm 24 years old and I already lost my Mom in 2020 and my Dad in 2021...
and a part of me thinks I should be with them right now... there is so much I didnt do yet that they won't be able to see... graduating college, get married or have children...

Not to mention I collapse every time I think of them...

On 22 may 2023, I also broke my spine as a result of a suïcide attempt. When you realize, you are alive, but in so much pain (literally and figuratively) I’ve realised, this could en would be my death. But it wasn’t. My recovery went Verry good and I am able to walk again. But Still, there is a part in me, that sometimes wished that it worked. That i had peace in my mind and don’t ever have to face my problems again. Now, several months later, I Watch the problems in the face and sometimes ive been happy about the fact that I’m Alive. I wish all of you the best. And been so thankfull for seeing this video. It gaves me strength and the feeling that I am not alone. Wish all of who is Reading is the best. You deserve to be happy 🫶🏼

Thats not true at all. Plenty of people don't even know there's anything wrong, because suicidal people hide it, until its too late. Loved ones have to wear that weight around their necks for the rest of their life - that someone they loved killed themselves, and that person blamed them for not reading their mind and "knowing something was wrong".

If you're feeling down, talk to somebody. Don't just assume they know everything. They don't.

@@the.seagull.35 that’s not true at all. Plenty of people tell their loved ones how suicidal they feel but get no reaction until it’s too late. Loved ones wouldn’t have to wear the weight around their necks had they taken notice in the first place. To expect a suicidal person to live in torture their whole lives so that you feel better is the selfish kind of attitude that pushes many people over the edge in the first place.

If I go into details, they sometimes say "I'm in a rush I can't talk about this now". At other times, if I manage to say it all in a way that catches their attention, they listen but then say "Oh we need to figure out a way to help you fix all these problems" and then forget about it.

I stayed strong BC after so long of trying to go to anything else but god they all failed me so I held on to god as the reason let me skip to now and say I started off faithless now I'm so faithful in god I started off worried for my future now I know its something gods gonna handle I'm not feeling depressed anymore the whole year of 2022 was hard but with god I made it threw!

Now I learned so much and love my relationship with god I know he loves and cares for me AND HE LOVES AND CARES FOR YOU TOO! So if u think it’s that bad, that these people know the hurt it will cause their loved ones, but they still go thru with it, bc their pain is bigger then any pain they could cause. I used to think the same way as you, but we have to understand that when depression takes such a hold on your mind you aren’t thinking right. Sometimes it could be thinking no one cares about them so they aren’t hurting anyone anyways. Or like I said before, their pain is bigger then anything they could cause someone else to feel. They don’t think they will ever get out of that dark hole and feel hopeless. Just think if you were in that mindset for years. In the end, we always put ourselves first, humans are selfish, self preservation is like our main goal. But when u no longer have any desire to wake up and live another day, that’s when those dangerous thoughts creep in and take hold of a vulnerable persons mind.
So, with that being said, you said it seems selfish. But, wouldn’t it be selfish for u to want ur friend to stay alive just bc u will miss them? Isn’t that selfish of u? It can go both ways. Would u want someone suffering thru cancer to stay alive for your benefit? Depression is a disease. It needs treatment, sometimes lots of different treatments, doses, types of therapy. Just like any other disease, not everyone reacts to the same meds. If nothing is working to kill the cancer, you wouldn’t want anyone to suffer right? Now think of depression the same way. Even now some people have medication resistant depression. I’m not saying death is the answer for them at all. We need to learn more and find alternatives to help them. I kind of rambled and went on longer then intended. I just hope you understand what I tried to say. Suicidal people don’t do it to hurt others, they do it bc their pain is bigger then any of us can imagine, the pain they cause us is small compared to what they feel. We need to get more accessible mental health treatment so people can get help before it gets to this point. I hope I made some sense.

I was depressed to and sinned for fun I had suicidal thoughts I remember in my room one night I told god that of things don't change I'm gonna kms I was sorry weak and at sometimes so weak I felt like I was dying then I remember a really good day came a day I loved so much and wanted more of so on that same day I remember saying god, I'm just gonna trust you and when you try to do something right the devil attacks you so the next day was horrible

I stayed strong BC after so long of trying to go to anything else but god they all failed me so I held on to god as the reason let me skip to now and say I started off faithless now I'm so faithful in god I started off worried for my future now I know its something gods gonna handle I'm not feeling depressed anymore the whole year of 2022 was hard but with god I made it threw!

Now I learned so much and love my relationship with god I know he loves and cares for me AND HE LOVES AND CARES FOR YOU TOO! I been there before I tried to attempt to do that six years ago by not making back home on time, four years ago I attempted to do that in & last year I tried to self harm and got send to the hospital. Yes I have been impatient 10 years ago with not enough help & during Covid-19 lockdown.

My niece makes jokes about wanting to commit suicide. I'm worried. I tried to talk to her but she is hostile to me. Her mom does not seem to be concerned. My niece in her early 30's, unemployed, obese, and no education achievements after high school. I gave her a best selling book "What's wrong with me". It's a work book to see why she is how she is. But that was seen as an insult. I give up. If she want's to off herself I've done my best. I've done more than her parents. I'm done. He verbal abuse and hostility towards me made it easy to quit.

I was hit by a car a year ago, i got 3 skull fractures
It damaged my hearing, gave me tinnitus 24/7 and distortion, hypercausis
Womens voices, children playing, people shouting
It's like shards of glass going through my brain
I can't go anywhere too loud, can't listen to music
Can't go to the cinema, can't play with my neices
It has destroyed my life
Im in tears as i write this
I know i can't live the rest of my life like this, but my family just can't understand ....
This won't get better, theres no light at the end of this tunnel
