Oh

Live alone, lone single
Atleast, atleast yea
Everyone is hollow

Pick me, pick me yea
Everyone is waiting
Pick me pick me yea
You can be the baby

Hey

Kiss this, kiss that yea
Live alone, lone single
Atleast, atleast yea
You could be my hero

Pick me, pick me yea
Everyone is waiting
Hit me, hit me yea
I'm real good at hitting

Hey

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Nirvana's song "Dive" are open to interpretation, but they can be seen as a commentary on loneliness and the desire for connection. The lyrics suggest that the singer feels isolated ("Live alone, lone single"), and they are pleading for someone to choose them ("Pick me, pick me yea"). The repeated phrase "Everyone is hollow" could be seen as a statement on the superficiality of modern society and people's inability to form meaningful connections.

The chorus, with its repeated plea to "Dive in me," is a powerful image of vulnerability and the desire to be known and understood. The line "You could be my hero" suggests that the singer views the person they are addressing as someone who could save them from their loneliness and isolation.

Overall, the song is an emotional plea for connection and an exploration of the pain of feeling alone. The repeated refrain of "Dive in me" creates a sense of urgency and desperation, underscoring the depth of the singer's desire for connection.

It’s honestly kinda sad how Dave Grohl has been part of 2 bands, and two of his best friends died.

@JPproductions303

And it’s sadly poetic drummer losing his singer and a singer loosing his drummer

@philly_sports1558

Dave must have had flashbacks when he found out about Taylor. It must’ve been worse for him actually because he knew Taylor for about 25 years and only knew Kurt for about 5. I really feel for the guy.

@TheAndradeCS

I can't imagine how Pat Smear must feel, he was in 3 bands where his friends died, 2 of those being the same Dave Grohl was in. It's tragedy all around.
