I feel like this song is about someone who gave and gave to people their whole life and was too afraid to let anyone down (even when life permits that you let people down often, you have to because people can't get everything they want even if they would like to) and they was misguided to believe people would be nice and treat then with the same respect, but people took advantage and treated them like their slave rather than their friend or lover so one day they woke up and realized how they don't deserve to be treated that way and how draining and degrading these people really are.

No matter what you do nothing is good enough anyway so you just suddenly stopped doing things for people and stop caring but really you should of done so sooner before they did the damage they did you completely jading you and draining you of everything you have, and they now hate that person they are/were because it served them no justice to be that person when all people did was take advantage and use them, so instead they just fuck with people instead like they fucked with them and they aren't sorry about it ether .
