Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I can fly high
There is no god, wonderful new world
I can fly high
There is no god, wonderful new world
The place is worth visiting twice
I can fly high
There is no god, wonderful new world
The song "Fatima" by いとうかなこ is a contemplative reflection on the nature of reality and human experience. The opening lines of the song suggest that the world we live in may not be entirely real, and that the visions we carry with us are often simply programmed into us. The lyrics go on to describe a universe without any inherent value or meaning, where even the most arrogant gods are invisible and all-powerful only insofar as they continue to rule at the speed of light.
Despite this bleak view of reality, the singer finds solace in her own individuality. She sees herself as a "miraculous and deadly" minority, and finds comfort in the fact that she alone can be true to her own experience. The chorus of the song speaks to the power of memory and perception, and describes how even the most painful experiences can be transformed into something beautiful if we choose to hold on to them.
Overall, "Fatima" is a deeply introspective and philosophical song that encourages listeners to embrace their unique identities and embrace the world around them with both joy and pain.
