When they are not working as a unit, both Tackey and Tsubasa are working on solo projects. They have starred in many TV dramas and musicals and have even had solo concerts in the fall/winter of 2005. Even though their solo projects met with a good response from the fans, they went back to working as a unit, releasing their most successful single to date in January 2006.
In between promoting their new single and mentions of a new album and movie projects, Tackey is starring in his own musical Takizawa Enbujou and Tsubasa is playing alongside Doumoto Kouichi (堂本光一) in his musical SHOCK. The duo disbanded September 10, 2018.

The lyrics of タッキー＆翼's song ×～ダメ～ appears to be a love song that talks about the complexities of relationships, and the fear of separation that comes with it.
