The lyrics of レミオロメン's song ドッグイヤー (Dogu Iya) talks about the desire to escape from the mundane aspects of life and embark on a journey. The song begins by painting a picture of a hazy morning, where the sun's rays shine through the glass and create a dream-like atmosphere. The singer mentions their moderate preparations for the day, feeling a connection with the outside world as they open the door. The sound of helicopters flying in the low clouds passes by, evoking a sense of curiosity and longing.
The lyrics convey a search for something meaningful, no matter how old one becomes. The singer reveals that they are relatively fine, basking in sunlight and feeling like they could fall asleep. The only unusual thing they do is checking the weather forecast, hinting at a desire for a change of scenery and escaping responsibilities. The mention of deadlines and summer colds, accompanied by the suggestion of taking a trip once everything is finished, adds a sense of adventure and possibility.
The rapid passage of time and the busy nature of life become apparent to the singer, as they realize they haven't truly experienced the beauty of a clear blue sky. The mention of taking sleeping pills to fight off exhaustion and inviting sleep-deprived friends along on the journey suggests a need for companionship and shared experiences. The lyrics conclude with the idea of embracing the unknown and crossing the bridge of a rainbow, assuring the listener that everything will be okay.
