First time I did this mission I went from 92% damage and all Ofnir fighters at full health, to the victory, just by suddenly being brave and making sharp turns at every opportunity. Great mission.

This composer who makes these ace combat songs is very talented and very instrumental
With all the ace combat franchises it puts you right there in the middle of the cockpit and the sound effects and music it’s like playing MGS but in the air
Metal gear solid
For a Japanese game Bandai namco shares a lot of similarities with ridge racer games and soul caliber games
If you love flying in multi million dollar aircraft then this is the perfect game to put you in the Air Force or navy or support the military ISAF

I want to believe. I want to believe that there really was a Ghost of Kyiv that shot down 2 Sukhoi Su-35s, 1 Sukhoi Su-27, 1 MiG-29 and 1 Sukhoi Su-25.

I want to believe that this valiant Ukrainian pilot exists and any Latin Ace Combat music was playing suddenly in the clouds while fighting off the aggressor.

This, this will be my sort of UFO, urban legend myth story. That a real life or almost close to real life counterpart of one of my most favorite fictional pilots does exist and went ham and fought to the end.

There’s multiple videos of the so called Ghost of Kyiv including him shooting down Russian fighters. They believe it’s the same guy targeting Russian fighters. Same aircraft and same maneuvering. Low and fast to avoid enemy radar. Multiple videos showing the same type of maneuvering and the Russian fighters don’t see him coming until it’s too late. Here’s one of them:

@Devashish Athawale Multiple legitimate sources prove otherwise with many of the videos. The videos wouldn’t be all over military forums and news outlets all around the world if the fulcrum engaging Russian aircraft was fake. Plus the video you posted, was uploaded after the original video surfaced. I understand poor video quality but this isn’t in America where everyone is walking around with iphone 13s. I’m in a server talking directly to 2 friends who went to Ukraine to fight with a few militia groups. It’s legit and they are confirming a very fast low flying fulcrum that is taking out windows with his sonic booms and engaging Russian aircraft.

Was I the only one who thought this mission was one of the hardest in the game? I used an Su-47 which has good mobility but I sure as hell still crashed into that canyon a lot.

I found a bug (if you can call it that way) in this mission which enabled you to fly above the canyon without alarms going off and missiles shooting at you. I could only do it with the MIG -31 (enhanced version) because it was the fastest in the game. As soon as the mission starts, go full throttle. Keep gaining speed. when you reach the point where you have to turn left or right, pull up. Try to pull up at the last moment so you'll get a little extra speed before puling up. Now that you're above the canyon, alarms are all off and missiles behind you, but missiles can't reach you at the speed of the MIG-31. After a couple of missiles not being able to reach you and some evasive maneuvers while climbing up, alarms will stop. After that, you are free to fly above the canyon at any speed.

Maybe what happens is when a missile can't reach you and dies right behind you the game might think you got hit and alarms stop, I don't know really but it worked.

I said "enhanced" because it was a better version, not because it was "MiG-31E". Sorry for not remembering it was called MiG-31M because it was modified to be an enhanced version.

I can match the flying style of yellow squadron as well as grabarc. I perfectly mirror their moves, even sticking to grabarc's tail in then canyon while using full AB. X-02 Wyvern's agility is second to none, but I can do that with any of the high performance aircraft on ace combat 5.

I've got to say, the end to Ofnir and Grabacr squadrons wasn't very dramatic, particularly given the role that Grabacr played in the storyline... Hamilton's death, though, that was epic.
