Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
I'm alone
I'm alone
I'm alone
The lyrics of Koda Kumi's song "逢いたくて" reflect a deep sense of longing and regret for a past love. The singer expresses the internal struggle of wanting to move forward but being unable to let go of the memories and emotions tied to a past relationship. The repeated lines of "ah ah ah ah...タメ息" and "oh no 納得いく理由" convey a sense of inner turmoil and realization that despite knowing the reasons for their fights, the desire to see their loved one remains strong.
The lyrics evoke a poignant sense of loneliness and heartache as the singer admits to still wanting to see their former partner, even though they know they can't. I'm alone" capture the bittersweet emotions of longing for a lost love and the pain of being unable to fulfill that desire. The mention of crying alone and dreaming of their lost love further emphasizes the depth of the singer's emotions.
The memories of the time spent together with their past love are portrayed as a fleeting but sweet period in the lyrics. The reference to the "二人で過ごした愛の巣" symbolizes a cocoon of love shared by the couple, even though it was brief. The realization that those happy days are now just memories contributes to the wistful tone of the song, with the singer acknowledging the significance of those moments and expressing gratitude for them.
The ending of the song encapsulates a sense of regret, apology, and unfulfilled longing. The singer expresses their desire to embrace their former partner once more and apologizes for not being able to do so. I'm alone" reinforces the theme of unresolved feelings and yearning for a love that cannot be rekindled. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of emotional turmoil, nostalgia, and the enduring impact of a past love that still lingers in the singer's heart.
