加賀美セイラ Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Through the curtains and the noise
I awoke to your voice
Thinking you'll be by my side
You and I lay close in heart
Please save us from being apart
Your warmth and love
Never too long or harsh
Always, Beside you
That's all I wished for
Never too sad or hard
Can't bear, loosing, my everything
Walking down flight of stairs
Leaving path of footsteps
Sitting down on a chair
Leaving shadow to share
Standing still with nothing new
Staring down at my shoe in tears
Want to follow what you left behind for me?
Never too short or cold
Always, Beside you
That's all I wished for
Never too sad or hard
Apart from today, you have gone away
Never too long or harsh
Always, Beside you
That's all I wished for
Never too sad or hard
Can't bear, loosing, my everything
These lyrics are from 加賀美セイラ's song Never, which appears to be a song about a person who has lost a loved one. The first verse describes the moment when the person first wakes up, and there is sunlight coming through the curtains, and noise in the background. They are thinking about the person they lost and wishing they were still there beside them. The second verse describes the person going about their day but feeling devastated that their loved one is not there. They are crying and hoping to follow in their loved one's footsteps.
The chorus repeats the idea that the person desires to always be beside their loved one and never experience the sadness and pain of losing them. The final verse describes the person feeling lost and alone without their loved one, but still holding onto the hope that they will be reunited someday.
Overall, the lyrics provide a poignant reflection on the pain of losing someone close and the longing to be reunited with them.

@@clololown Late comer here. Currently I lean towards "human's relationship" as the theme of the show.
It doesn't matter if memory & bodies are manipulate able, the connection between people is often more impactful and meaningful, perhaps should be the ideal priority in this dystopia.
We see bodies/memory are dehumanised to fit society/commercial purpose. But we also see humans triumphs/benefit of such technology.
Kaiba connects with people better with the mind reader. He is able to share people's view.
The aunt in regret retains the girl's memory, at least she recognise and preserve her limited existence.
It doesn't matter Kaiba (men/plant) owns eternal storage of humankind's memory, because... what is memory if it couldn't reflect the passing moment that truly connect individuals meaningfully.
[Never] has good lyrics, because we should strife to spend passing time to make fond memory with the ones we love, because apart today, memory is all we have got.

I'm amazed by how this anime makes me feel so depressed yet so grateful to be alive at the same time. There's just something about this one, something special...
@bobka_old
grateful depression = sweet melancholy?

@an8thdimensionalbeing142
it really does inspire some level of philosophy on what is life in a world where the mind can be easily swapped between bodies like a person between cars. how much of yourself can you replace before you stop being you and at what point does you even matter anymore? are you your body or the collective experiences of said body? is functional immortality even meaningful when you ultimately forget who you were? it's such an underrated anime in my opinion.
@questioninconnu
An UFO in animation. This show have a childish and expressive design, but the story is cruel, adult, and tragic. The two together give a fabulous tone to the series.
@moozooh
Interestingly, there are numerous examples of some of the most somber and adult-oriented anime movies and series taking a decisively cute and/or cartoonish art style: Kaiba, Katanagatari, Spring and Chaos, Cat Soup, Made on Abyss, Tatami Galaxy. I guess Now and Then, Here and There doesn't really count, but it still looks kind of deceptive.
@anamarlylameiradasilva94
moozooh half of these have yuasa in it lol. Guess the man loves to make heavy themes couple with cute art styles
@jirapatthaenphromrat2910
@@moozooh Damn, you know quite a few of these.
EDIT: Does Magicka Madoka and Kino Tabi count?
