Her star sign is Aries, and her favourite food is sushi, strawberries, mandarin oranges, and papaya. In 1986 she participated in the NHK Kayō Heaven Competition in Wakayama Prefecture, where she was discovered by one of the judges, Kōshō Inomata, who took her as his apprentice. In April 1986 she moved to Tokyo to start her training. On 4th March 1987 she made her professional début with the single "Abare Taiko" (「あばれ太鼓」) on Capitol Tokyo. Overall Meaning

In the classroom where the skyscrapers are visible, two people sat beside each other, spending the same days studying a little English and playing basketball. It was there that the singer fell in love with the person beside her. Even after graduation, the person treated her like a child, half-jokingly, half-seriously telling her not to go too far as they embraced below wide winter clouds on a winter's night. However, the beloved one died like a dream. Now, the singer wanders along the seashore, not knowing whether to rage or cry. She stares at strangers with the hope that they will be the person she misses, yearning to be held tightly again and to have her shoulder grabbed by her beloved. She wants to be scolded, kissed gently, and embraced while being told that it's a lie if she was told that she is not needed.
