主題歌にこの物語の情景が込められている。
現地の民族楽器が巧みに使われているのも素晴らしい。
アルゼンチンに行ったことがなくても、この曲を聞くだけで、日本にはない、どこまでも地平線が広がるアンデスの麓の原野の風景が目に浮かんでくる。

この歌を聴くと、靴が壊れて足の爪がはがれたマルコが、母さんのいるバイアブランカにボロボロになってでも歩き続ける姿が思い出されます。それと同時にマルコを列車で逃がす為に犠牲になったパブロも思い出しました。
