@Okon Didn't found any formal mentions of it but 1:16 sound strikingly similar, it could be a remix of emancipation just like of Juggernaut in ACZ to Bartolomeo Fortress in AC6.

Ice Cage ... I'm picturing a 3D virtual experience where you're inside a dimension with an endless deep blue colored horizon - around a white-bluish Cage bars, with glittering ice particles falling around it.
A white empty chair inside the cage which is glued to it's floor.
A windy environment forming a circle inside the cage causing a faint snow dust screen.
When you set there 1:16 the dimension suddenly ignites into white flash then you see yourself inside a fighter aircraft cockpit with other aircrafts around you circling around the very same area in this mission fighting the enemies.
This imagination fits Blaze's thinking to guide us into his mind when he is telling us his story after the war by using a virtual reality experience to make us feel his moment inside the battlefield X)
It also fits as a way to promote the game for a VR experience :)

@Low Intellect Trash yep, they did it in AC5's too but and it was nicely done. Take a listen to "Front Line" and other compositions, you'll get it.
In AC2's the AC series were like a newborn baby, beautiful, but still just a kid, AC4's, AC5's onwards seemed to be more 'mature'.
I'm listening to the AC2 OST to see for myself.

That is one of the things that sells Ace Combat to me. The right context and the right music for that context. It's so suiting.

I mean, they could put a generic rock music on top of this mission and call it a day, but they didn't, instead they made one of the best winter themes I've ever heard in a videogame and a recall to "emancipation" from AC4 which is awesome too.

On This mission, I used the Mikoyan-Gurevich Mig-31M Foxhound 4th Gen Fighter Aircraft. Man I wish I could play this game all over again. Best Ace Combat Alongside ACZ

I can’t help but put myself in the troopers shoes. Frozen fingers and frosted boots, holding your M4A1 close to you as the -50 degree weather pelts your fatigues reaching your skin. But your so focused on surviving the drop from the rope you don’t even notice you’ve just got frost bitten fingers. The sense of your stomach dropping in fear that the AH-64 coming for you might get lucky..

If I wanted a real world flight combat game, I'd play HAWX or a PC sim. Strangereal world is the main theme of the Ace combat series, without that fictional world, you have no storyline, and that takes away almost all the appeal for me, AC6 was the last decent game.

AC6 was good, but Assault Horizon dosent have that AC feeling anymore, I guess mostly cuz it dosent take place in Strangereal.

I think the pilot of the crashed helicopter lost his spacial orientation.

In my country a pilot was trying to fly IFR and at the same time visual flying while in poor visibility, he unfortunately had this spacial desorientation issue and then crashed the chopper and all passengers as well as the pilot were killed in the incident.

AC AH just, strayed away from all that is good. It's really just a 'mainstream' plot: Russians+Bomb vs. U.S.A. Where else have we seen this plot? CoD, BF... It's horrible.

As much as there are numerous things I don’t like about 6 compared to the other games, its rapid replayability from being so short makes it a great first game for being new to getting all medals and has some of the best SP Weapons
