Remarkably lovely rendition. Friends of mine who are Irish say it is the most beautiful version of Danny Boy they have ever heard. Hard to disagree with that assessment.

Her singing voice was hauntingly beautiful.
A beautiful lady with a golden voice.
If this is not the best rendition of Danny boy, it is certainly one of the best.

Perplexed!!! I LOVE this song and it's a pure beauty in japanese! A wonderful asian version of an irish song. I'm also trying to find a chinese/korean version of a french tune called Plaisir D' Amour,i guess it's out of Youtube now (I wonder why).
少川靖男
She almost got the firing squad after the war, her birth certificate came in the nick of time verifying that she was borned from Japanese parents, hence could not be executed as "Japanese sympathizer". She passed just a few yrs back. RIP

Yamaguchi looks so more Taiwanese than Japanese. I know she has a Japanese father but adopted by Taiwanese family, but I don't know if she has a Taiwanese mother because Taiwanese have the Dutch and aboriginal bloods.
Yatsen Chan
You obviously do not know her story. She was a Japanese woman who grew up bilingual in Mandarin and Japanese. Wikipedia will provided you with her background. As far as I know, her only connection with Taiwan is the film, SAYON'S BELL, which was filmed on location in Taiwan.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoshiko_Yamaguchi She wasn't adopted.
