This song makes me tear up, not because of the meaning or the game itself, but because of the dev team singing the chorus. This was the developer's YOLO attempt to save the studio and they decided to make the game they wanted to make, rather than the game most likely to sell. The chorus shows just how much pride went into making this game. Good thing it paid off too because the game saved the really did save the studio.

No game ending ever had a stronger effect than this one. Other games make me scream, or cry, or feel happiness, but this game absolutely wrecked me in an emotional level that I still never recovered. Just listening to the song with the choir makes me tear up. What a masterpiece.

I've spent over a decade playing videogames, from the first Playstation till now.

And really, REALLY, I think this single piece of music is something I've NEVER experienced before.

I will carry Nier Automata with me till the end of my days because yes, I think I've never been touched so much and in so many ways from a media content (books, tv shows, music, movies...) more than from this game.

What I would have loved is, during the end credits, the very last bits of the song with the chorus humming out the tune reveals the design crew in the studio singing. And after the singing ends, they wave, bow, and otherwise say thanks for planning. I always think of that when i hear this and just want to tell THEM thank you. One of the finest games ever made.

I've finished the game for the first time today, going in completely blind of the story. I'm so happy I did, I never would have expected a credits scene to break me like this. I hadn't started to cry until I died once and saw the message from someone else, and each time more kept coming, it felt so amazing to have someone there even if they truly arent. The realization that someone gave up their save data just to have the chance to help you, a random person, experience the ending hurt me so much. I wouldnt know how much time they spent on their files, or if they had gotten 100% completion, but doing such a selfless act just to help someone else finish a game after everything feels so amazing to see. I couldn't not do the same after seeing it. I just hope I can have the same effect on someone as the one that helped me did.

I'm sorry for the long read, but if you're here then I'm happy you at least took the time, and thank you.

It's amazing how a game can connect the whole community with its ending credits. Even though I didn't get 100% I'm still glad I sacrificed my save to help someone complete the game and witness its true ending. If you're playing the ending credits, don't give up, there will always be someone there to help you :)

I was late to the party but I finally achieved ending E 2 days ago. When I found out that you could just buy trophies from the post-game shop, I was shocked. I have Plated a few games and they all required pretty much 80-100 hours at least to do so. That's when I felt like the devs of NieR didn't care if you are a grinder, a hardcore gamer, or just a casual player who wants to play it once to see the end of the story. All that mattered to them was that you had bought and played this game that they had poured their souls into making, whether it suited your taste or not. In the end, they all wanted to send us, who had spent time and effort completing this brilliantly made piece of art, their Final Words: "Thank you for playing". And when the Platinum trophy noti popped up with this song playing on my phone, I couldn't help but bursted into tears. No movies, songs, books or even games had broken me this hard. I'm definitely playing it again.

So, this song gives me chills once the chorus breaks in in the background. It kinda feels like as I sing, the whole community sings with me, and it's telling that the Chorus kicks in once you accept the help from other players. Finishing this game broke a lot of what I thought about Humanity as a whole, and started a whole new passion for Taro's games. Thanks for making this Game Taro, you'll never see this, but you changed my life.

I love the ending part of the song. Pure, untouchable, hope. After such great and long suffering, so much pain and sadness in a seemingly doomed situation, everyone comes together and creates a beautiful sense of hope. Not just the pods, but all the players across the world. It’s touching.

I have problems with crying, it's almost like I suffer of some kind of block and I grew up avoiding to cry to make myself appear stronger and that probably caused my problem. My life has being pretty strange lately, I have tons of doubts regarding my future and most of the days I'm convinced I'm just incompatible with living and I just wish I could let some stress flow with some tears...but today I listened to this song again, and the emotional response was so strong that it made me cry like I never cried in years, the soundtrack of both Replicant and Automata will always have a special place in my heart <3

Something that hits home about this game, and by extension this song, is that there's the whole in-game narrative, but I think you could also look at it kind of like Undertale. Like, if you imagine that the whole resetting of the world is someone starting a fresh save file, and them going through stuff over and over, and the senseless destruction that follows, and the game tries to make you care about the characters (both the androids and the robots). If you care about them, the correct thing to do is to end that loop and set everyone free. Give someone else that help with your save file, and then move on. It's beautiful.

just my thoughts but I really loved the fact that ending E wasn't actually an ending in the traditional sense, yes the game ended there but the story was left open, with our main characters alive again, but really it was the rejection of the story ending there. I know there is some small lore surrounding what happens after but personally I prefer to leave the story we know at that ending, to leave it with that open-endedness.

The biggest thank you to the whole dev team, this game will honestly forever stay with me, the experience was like no other in quality.

Like fuck, this song doesn't just bring me to tears, but makes me stop doing whatever I'm doing and cry. No other song, however brilliant ballad, did ever do this to me. Because of this game, which is all very tragic and absolutely beautiful and dramatic, and then the moment when you have to accept help, and then the devs choir kicks in, and... that's it. Yeah.

I wish I did finish the few quests I still had around. I was so close to 100% I didn't feel like deleting the save file just yet. I'm gonna do it tomorrow tho, I had to take a break from the game after ending E. There's no point keeping your useless save file there. That's the true ending.

@timestopMachinist maybe he wanted to say that why the other Androids have to wear a mask and/or blindfold but the commander does not, which is a clue that the commander is not under human order since they do not exist anymore. However, we, players, failed to notice this until the late game or do not notice at all.

A few pieces of media have left me sobbing before...usually from sadness. This applies to NieR: Automata when 2B strangled 9S...even though he ended up being fine.

Ending E though...Ending E made me cry in a way nothing else has.

I sobbed yes. But not from sadness. The feeling was more hopeful...when Pod 153 asked if I wanted to save everyone...that set me off...and I continued crying through the credits. It gave me a feeling no other game did before...and I don't think any other game will make me feel the same way.
