The elements of Hsu's song are in the integration of Taiwanese Opera, which creating a familiar, and refreshing feeling. Flexible use of Mandarin and Taiwanese language speech, making the song become natural and smooth. For the melody, the main pace is usually fast paced song. In the accompaniment and harmony parts, she tried to create a unique way of chord progression and transfer mode which are many variations of existing popular music.
On May 29, 2009, Hsu issued her debut album creation "LaLa Hsu". 想必很多人都非常喜歡徐佳瑩的這首【失落沙洲】，我也不例外。
我近來從一個訪談節目中得知了徐佳瑩當初創作這首歌時的心境，對這首歌有了更深一層的理解。徐佳瑩說，她非常高興這首歌讓很多人認識了她，也很欣慰這首歌的詞觸動了許多人內心對某故情人，友人，或親人的一種思念。
當初徐佳瑩在寫【失落沙洲】時，是處於失戀不久的狀態沒錯，但歌詞裡寫的“你”，並不是寫給前男友，而是寫給自己在失戀之前，那位對愛情充滿著希望的小女生。情傷後，自己似乎對愛情少了那種單純夢幻的態度，甚至對愛情樹立了防衛。所以她寫了這首歌，要喚回之前相信愛情的徐佳瑩。這句：“除了你之外的空白，還有誰能來教我愛”，現在是不是更說的通了呢？
聽徐佳瑩這麼一講解，我都起了雞皮疙瘩。一首對自己吟唱的歌，今日卻能為那麼多人療癒心裡的空缺，原先對徐佳瑩已有的仰慕和欣賞，又倍增了。希望 Lala 在華語流行歌壇永遠地待下去。❤
