Lyrics

The lyrics of “異邦人” by 石井竜也 have a lot of symbolism and depth. The song starts with a group of children reaching out to the sky with their arms wide open, trying to grasp everything around them. The singer reflects on his own innocence, when he believed that if he reached out his hand, he could touch the sky because he knew nothing of yesterday's world. The lines "空と大地がふれあう彼方過去からの旅人を 呼んでる道" convey the idea of a journey beyond what we can see, a journey that calls back travelers from the past.
As the song progresses, the singer describes his experience in a busy market, feeling lost and overwhelmed. The sound of prayers and footsteps blend together, creating a chaotic atmosphere. The line "時間旅行が心の傷を なぜかしら埋めてゆく 不思議な道" is particularly interesting because it suggests that time travel can heal emotional wounds, even if we don't understand how.
Finally, the song ends on a sad note, with the singer writing a farewell letter to someone he's lost touch with. The repetition of the line "あとは哀しみをもて余す 異邦人" emphasizes the feeling of loneliness and isolation, as someone who no longer belongs in their own home.
Overall, the song seems to be about a journey of self-discovery, about growing up and realizing that the world is much bigger and more complex than we originally thought. It's a beautiful and poignant song that captures the feeling of being an outsider in your own life.
