Ryokuoshoku Shakai was formed via four friends, three of which were classmates, in Aichi, Japan. They started their activities in 2012. In 2013, they came in second place during the SCHOOL OF LOCK x Sonymusic 10dai Ongaku Festival "Senkou Riot". Since then, they have released three limited venue singles and two mini-albums via Tower Records, and they sold out their November and December 2017 tour. Their eponymous first full-length album is to be released on March 14th 2018.

The lyrics to 緑黄色社会's song あのころ見た光 reflect the emotions of individuals who are trying to navigate life with hope and optimism. The first stanza talks about how time is moving faster than their emotions can catch up with. They are unsure if they will ever reach the place they truly want to be in life. Despite the uncertainty, they notice that there is a glimmer of hope in their future, and they must forge ahead, even though fear is present.

この曲とライブの一体感と晴子さんの可愛さと、全部が大好きで…。YouTubeじゃなくて自分も生で聞きたいと思ってリョクシャ化計画に行ってきた。ほんとに凄かった。声を出せなかったのがウズウズしたけど、ほんとに凄かった。この曲が来た時泣きそうだった。リョクシャカがもっと好きになった。
