Goodbye Graffiti

Goodbye Graffiti
Goodbye Graffiti
Ah Youthful Days
Goodbye Graffiti

These lyrics are from 西沢幸奏's song "Goodbye Graffiti," which reflects on the fleeting nature of time and the memories associated with it. The singer reminisces about the past, represented by the falling cherry blossoms and the sense of emptiness that comes with the realization that "there is nothing here." They reflect on their youthful innocence through the image of torn textbook pages falling, symbolizing the end of a chapter.
The lyrics also touch upon the awkward and meaningless conversations they had during that time, recognizing that those moments were everything to them. The singer then describes climbing the stairs, as if ascending towards a blank, pure future, bidding farewell to the graffiti that represents their written words and memories. They acknowledge that even if those words are forgotten someday, they will not forget the feelings they shared while facing each other, signifying a deep connection.
In the second verse, the singer reveals their fear of always being told the truth, causing them to be hesitant in expressing their true feelings. They mention that even a small joy has the power to change the world but admit that they still find it hard to believe. As they grow up, seeking correctness and common sense, they wonder where their cherished emotions will go. They symbolize this dilemma by throwing a vivid wish into the sky from the rooftop, urging it to take flight.
The lyrics continue to express the singer's desire to continue the unfinished dream they shared with someone special, emphasizing that it's impossible to determine what cannot be achieved. The song concludes with a mention of the strengthening wind, representing both a sense of uncertainty and determination to embrace new beginnings and create new "Graffiti" on the canvas of life.
