靴跡の花
遊佐未森 Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The song 靴跡の花 by 遊佐未森 is a poetic representation of a journey that the singer has embarked on to fulfill their desire for the brilliance of the stars. In the first stanza, we see the singer walking alone, seeking the light of the high stars. The next line metaphorically represents the journey so far, with the flowers swaying in the wind, and their colors not visible to the distant eyes. The singer has learned a lesson, and now stops at every juncture to take notice of the footprints left before them. They realize that these footprints are of people who have walked on the same path while chasing the same dream.
The chorus describes the ephemeral nature of human desires, like the flowers that bloom just for a short while. But the footsteps that the singer leaves behind will someday bloom into a beautiful white flower, representing the legacy they leave behind. The singer's footsteps on this road will always be remembered as a mark of their journey towards their dreams, and the white flowers will continue to sway, acknowledging the effort and struggles.
Overall, 靴跡の花 is a song that inspires people to chase their dreams and leave a lasting impact on the world. The journey towards our goals may be difficult, but it's the footsteps we leave behind that create a path for others to follow and bloom into something greater than we could have imagined.

ONE OF THE BEST SONGS I HAD EVER HEARD. This song is so powerfull in many ways. I can totally picture the soul of this movie in this melody, Even without pictures this song make me picture scenes of knights , battles and some heroic scenes. I think this is the best adaptation of this story. Thanks for sharing

While watching Arslan Senki, I initially preferred the "Ryoute Ippai" ending for all the cool character designs and sweet lyrics, but I actually think I prefer this ending now. It really is a gorgeous and unique song~ (just like this whole show is so gorgeous and unique! I wish more people had seen it over the newer one with the less romantic Hiromu Arakawa character designs).

I think people should watch both versions. The OVAs were made most likely for fans, so everything progresses much faster. Many of the negative reviews of the OVAs say that they felt lost because a lot of things lack proper context. And Arslan's encounter with Étoile when they're both 11 is completely omitted in the OVAs, which is important for their later encounter when they're both 14 (and Arslan discovers she's a girl, etc) and his goal of freeing the slaves, and overall Arslan's view of the world as he ages.
The 2015 anime complements the OVAs. I watched the 2015 anime first and I still like the OVAs a little bit more, because the music and aesthetic fits the story better imo.
