The members are:
大倉忠義 (Ohkura Tadayoshi - green ranger)
村上信五 (Murakami Shingo - purple ranger)
丸山隆平 (Maruyama Ryuhei - orange ranger)
安田章大 (Yasuda Shota - blue ranger)
横山裕 (Yokoyama You - black ranger)
Ex-member:
内博貴 (Uchi Hiroki - He has never been a ranger, because he left before they started as rangers)
渋谷すばる (Shibutani Subaru - red ranger)
錦戸亮 (Nishikido Ryo - yellow ranger)
The members are known for being very close, possibly even the closest in all of Johnny's, shown by their annual barbecues and birthday celebrations together. In concerts they have been known to dress up as "Kanjani Sentai 8 Ranger" and do skits. Their ranger outfits of course are in their image colors.
In December 2002 the group was created out of members of Kansai Juniors. At the time, the 7 members excluding Ōkura Tadayoshi were appearing on the TV program "J3 KANSAI" on Kansai TV. In the Kansai area, Kansai TV is on channel 8, so Johnny Kitagawa added another member, Ōkura Tadayoshi, to match the channel number. Shortly after their formation, they held their first concert, titled "Kanjani8 Xmas Party 2002" at the Osaka Shouchikuza theater, where they performed their first song as an 8-member group, Do you agree?.
On August 25th, 2004 they released their first single, Naniwa Iroha Bushi which was first limited to the Kansai area but later (September 22nd) was released nationally as well. The limited-release CD debuted at a record #1 on the Oricon Enka chart, and a #8 on the overall chart. The nationwide release reached #1 on both the Enka and overall charts. At this time, the numerical "8" in their name was turned onto its side and made into an infinity symbol (∞).
Do you agree?

Wondering why
This secret in your heart
Why don't you let me share your thoughts
Something strange is going on
Maybe something you've gone through
So often sadness in your eyes
I don't know what to do, I don't know what to
Do you always have to be alone
Just by yourself, just you alone
Why don't you let me in
Do you have always have to go away
So far away, so far away
Why can't you stay
In a place of refuge where no one's allowed
Somewhere up north
Where no helping hands will reach you
In your silent desert land
As captain of a peaceful phantom ship
In a proud and senseless soul
How am I supposed to help you
I don't know what to do, I don't know what to
Do you always have to be alone
Just by yourself, just you alone
Why don't you let me in
Do you always have to go away
So far away, so far away
Why can't you stay
How am I supposed to help you
When you're in your desert land
How am I supposed to help you
I don't know what to do, I don't know what to do
Do you always have to be alone
Just by yourself, just you alone
Why don't you let me in
Do you always have to go away
So far away, so far away
Why can't you stay
Why can't you stay
Why can't you stay
In the song Do You Agree? by Japanese band 関ジャニ∞ (Kanjani Eight), the lyrics describe the frustration and helplessness of trying to reach out to someone who is distant and closed off. The singer wakes up to the sound of thunder, wondering why the person they care about won't open up to them and let them in. They surmise that maybe something difficult has happened, and they see sadness in the other person's eyes, but they don't know how to help.
The lyrics use imagery to convey the idea that the person they care about is isolated, both physically and emotionally. The mention of a "silent desert land" suggests a place where no one can reach them or help them. The line about being "captain of a peaceful phantom ship" suggests a kind of loneliness that is self-imposed and even a little bit proud. The other person seems to be closed off in a kind of fortress of solitude, and the singer doesn't know how to break through.
Overall, the lyrics of Do You Agree? convey a sense of frustration and impotence in the face of someone who won't let us help them. It's a poignant and heartfelt expression of the desire to connect with someone and the pain of feeling shut out.
