The whole theory about L seeing their future in 60 seconds make sense to me. I don't think it was just L either, to be honest. My take on it is that when he first sees her, he's shocked and it's love at first sight - however, if you remember, the girl doesn't see him until she gives him the coffee and that's part of her job, so she doesn't really see him, not yet. He thinks about what could be if they were to get together and then, in the end, realises that it wouldn't be possible and that sometime during their time together, they'd split up, so he's saving them the pain of breaking up and decides not to pursue her.
When he gets up, he leaves the ring on purpose, whether to get rid of the memory/vision he'd just had of them two, or because he wanted her to keep it for some reason, I don't know. She runs after him to return the ring and I think at this point, she takes a really good look at him and she sees the same future as Myungsoo. Bearing in mind, she's holding the ring as well and it looks like L is begging her to keep it - to keep the memory of what could of been with her; he walks off and leaves her there, knowing what could of happened and what would have happened.
During the ring-giving scene, he hands her it, makes her keep it and I feel this is also to protect himself from heartbreak. He knows what will happen if he goes after her, no matter how 'in love' he is with her and he wants to avoid breaking both their hearts. She knows this as well, which I feel is why she is crying. They both want a future together, but they know how it will end and they want to avoid the heartbreak. Even if they were to have happy memories, they would still inevitably break up; this only prolongs the heartbreak and makes it harder to endure when it WILL happen.
I don't think I'm explaining myself properly, but this makes sense in my head. I know there's a theory about past lovers, and I see that as a plausible theory as well - I'm just leaning on mine a bit more. Furthermore, I don't think they were flashbacks she was seeing, but rather the future that they'd have had.
To back up my whole theory, I mean, haven't any of you ever looked at someone and thought, "I wonder what would happen if we ever met, if we were ever in a relationship? The things we'd do... The things we'd fight about, everything." I'll admit it: I have. I have thought about it before, and in the end it ends with the same thought, "No. It wouldn't work." It's not something I've cried about; they're a stranger and I have too much to do to be worrying about a thought I had with someone, but when your friends are in stable relationships, it leaves you wondering if you'd be able to find that with someone too.
Besides, as I've been told by various sources, Sunggyu said that this song was about how a relationship can start in 60 seconds, but also end in 60 seconds. I keep editing this, sorry.
Beautiful song, beautiful meaning, beautiful singer and actor ;) This proves that Sunggyu has a future with Infinite and by himself as a soloist. I'm very proud to be a fan! Sorry, Woohyunnie, you have to step down to the second floor - Sunggyu is taking the first one! <3
