The final lineup consisted of Kyungri (경리), Hyemi (혜미), Sojin (소진), and Keumjo (금조).

The group debuted in 2010 with "No Playboy". Shortly after their debut, Jaekyung, Bini, Rana and Euaerin were announced to be leaving, although Euaerin decided to return to the group. They also promoted their debut single album side track, "Ladies".

The group had a much better received comeback in 2011 with Figaro, although it was revealed that their company had nearly decided to rename them "Sweet Candy", due to fears that people would become confused as to why a group called "Nine Muses" only had seven members. In 2012, Kyungri was added to the group lineup in time for their 2012 release: "News". In 2013, Sungah was added to the group line up, so Nine Muses could finally live up to their name and promote with 9 members.

2013 was a busy year for Nine Muses; four comebacks and their first full album being released. They promoted (in order) Dolls, Wild, Gun and Glue; Gun being the title track of their full album "Prima Donna".

In 2014, members Lee Sem, Eunji and Sera all announced their departure from the group, and the company announced there would be a comeback in August of that year with a new member. In 2015, two new members, Keumjo and Sojin, joined the group.

In 2016, members Euaerin and Minha left the group following the expiration of their contracts. Later in the year, Hyuna also left the group due to contract expiration. They came back as a subunit named 9MUSES A (나인뮤지스A) which consisted of Kyungri, Hyemi, Sojin and Keumjo with a single album MUSES DIARY. In 2017 it was announced that the group will be coming back with the same line-up as Nine Muses rather that Nine Muses A with Sungah being on hiatus to study music. They released mini-album MUSES DIARY PART.2: IDENTITY in June.

Nine Muses announced their disbandment on February 10th, 2019.

The Korean public should have given them another chance. This group has no bad songs. They even after Playboy and being mistreated by their company, they pulled up their socks and came together with Figaro, 1 way ticket, News, dolls and others which are all classics. Just look at their confidence levels. There is a drastic change and they had grown with every MV. They look much happier in their other videos. They deserved to be recognized and at least an Award. I think it is not so much the recording version, but the live performance on-stage which got all the negative reviews. At that time, Nine Muses was still a rookie group, and unused to live performances, so the live singing might be one reason why it sounded so bad then. Inside the studio, it is a different matter since they can do multiple re-recordings and editing of the song.

It's cause they actually debut in 2010 and that was the year Miss A, girls day, orange caramel and sistar debut, all very strong debut songs 3 of the 4 groups had vocal heavy debut songs. And then in 2011 you had monster girl groups like apink and Rania (contrary to popular belief Ranias debut album was very popular), so comparing 9muses debut to the rest of the girl groups the debut around the same time I can see why people would call 9muses a flop debut. Even though now looking at it they weren't all that bad, but also there debut stage was really bad. Like they just stopped singing half way through the stage. 👀👀

i think it was after the stage performances that the audience started to dislike the debut. the girls look pretty much worn out and depressed, so the dancing and vocals weren’t great. the only girl that managed to shine through all the abuse they went through was lee sem, the rest of the girls were just worn out. and for some reason the korean audience decided to label it as the ‘worst debut song?’. definitely not half as bad as they made it out to be considering the girls worked so hard despite everything.

Even before they had this line-up, they had different girls. I'm not sure what happened, but they had to change them, and even before debut, they were planning on replacing Jaekyung with Hyuna, but Hyuna wanted to wait until she was ready because if she debuted with them, she would only have a few months to train and catch up. Kyungri and Sungah were part of the actual predebut line-up but their vocals weren't that great, so even this line-up is better.

Coming back after hearing about the upcoming disbandment...I don't even know where to start actually... I know that they deserved so much more than this. They really were a force of nature when it comes to quality songs, especially during the Sweetune era. And I just wished they got the recognition they deserved. I want to wish all the members AND former members good luck with everything they're going to do with their lives from now on. You all did your best 9Muses and you will always be remembered as a fierce, mature group with one of the most solid consistent discography I've ever heard from any other K-pop acts. This is not one of the worst debuts ever it’s one of the BEST debuts ever. Even if it sounded like genie from girls generation this still deserved an award. I’m missing best rapper Lee sem, Best vocalist Sera, Best Vocalist HyunA, Best Vocalist Jaekyoung, & best vocalist Hyemi. I wish the girls make a mv reunion one day.

BlackPink Biased I wouldn't call the video nice or bad just average. (Everyone looks extremely hot so I give it a solid 4.5/10) As for the song, I actually really like it. I never understood why everyone seemed to hate it. It's a fun and catchy song, definitely not the best but not the worst. The choreography is really fun too. :^)

well, there’s nothing wrong about stannning blackpink. i’m a 2gen stan and sometimes i listen to them. 9muses is my second favorite group. i didn’t like them at first, but “no playboy” is that kind of bops that you can’t take out of your head. i like it, but i don’t love it. i started stanning them when they released “news” and i still here TT as a mine, I know the video is nothing awesome and at that time, small companies did not have enough income to make a quality video like those who were offered by the big three. and don’t make talk about star empire training the girls for the debut, it’s disappointing. i’m glad they improve a lot with time, muses is never end ♥️
