Drive
Incubus Lyrics

Uncertainty stinging clear
And I can't help but ask myself how much I'll let the fear
Take the wheel and steer
It's driven me before and it seems to have a vague
Haunting mass appeal
But lately I am beginning to find that I
Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes, yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there
I'll be there
So if I decide to waiver my
Chance to be one of the hive
Will I choose water over wine
And hold my own and drive?
It's driven me before And it seems to be the way
That everyone else gets around
But lately I am beginning to find that when I drive myself
My light is found
Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes, yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there
I'll be there
Would you choose water over wine
Hold the wheel and drive?
Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there
With open arms and open eyes, yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there
I'll be there
"Drive" by Incubus is a song about taking control of one's own life and not letting fear hold you back from pursuing your dreams. The opening lines describe the fear of uncertainty that can paralyze someone when they are faced with decisions about the future. The fear can feel overwhelming, and it's easy to let it take control and dictate one's actions. However, the singer realizes that he needs to take control of his life and not let fear dictate his choices. He wants to be the one behind the wheel, driving his own life forward.
The chorus of the song is an affirmation of that decision to take control. The singer promises to be there, with open arms and eyes, ready to face whatever tomorrow brings. He's not going to let fear hold him back or stop him from pursuing his dreams. He's going to be there, ready and willing to take on whatever challenges come his way.
The second verse introduces a choice between two paths. The singer wonders if he'll choose water over wine, which can be interpreted as a choice between the easy, comfortable path (water) and the more challenging, but ultimately rewarding one (wine). He's questioning whether he'll choose to follow the crowd and do what everyone else does or hold his own and drive his own life forward.

This was my older brothers favorite band. He died two days ago and still don’t know how to feel. It’s been really weird. But I’m still gonna listen to incubus for those good memories of him
@chrisperez4199
I’m sorry to hear. My condolences to you and your family. Your brother must’ve been a great man.

@@chrisperez4199 it’s weird. He was great. I’ll miss him. Can’t do anything but to try now
@Anonymous-54545
that must be extremely weird. do you want to describe the situation, since we're a bunch of internet strangers who won't be full of Sorry For Your Losses about it? it seems like the people closest to the deceased person usually have basically no one to talk to because everyone's being so careful around them. how old was he? was he married? do you want to say how he died? etc
