Away From Me
Puddle Of Mudd Lyrics

Yeah

Lies

Look at me now just sitting here by myself
And I think you found someone else
Now I'm gonna have to find a way to put the bottle down
And why can't you see that I'm drowning in a pool of misery?

I'm always afraid that you're gone
Away from me
I'm always afraid that you're lost in
Somebody
I'm always afraid that you're gone
Away from me
I'm always afraid that you're lost

So here I am I want to be my myself
And I think you're fucking someone else
Now I'm gonna have to find a way to take the knife out of my back
And how could you leave me
Stranded in a closet full of puddles?

I'm always afraid that you're gone
Away from me
I'm always afraid that you're lost in
Somebody
I'm always afraid that you're gone
Away from me
I'm always afraid that you're lost

Maybe you could let me stay
Maybe just for one more day
You could help me stay the same
Maybe things won't ever change
Maybe we could taste the rain
You could push me out the way
Now I sit here by myself
Think about somebody else
How could you let them take you away from me?
(There's somebody else, there's somebody else)

I'm always afraid that you're gone
Away from me
I'm always afraid that you're lost in
Somebody
I'm always afraid that you're gone
Away from me
I'm always afraid that you're

I'm always afraid
I'm always afraid
I'm always afraid
I'm always afraid
I'm always afraid
I'm always afraid

I'm always afraid
Away from me

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Puddle of Mudd's "Away From Me" express the pain and confusion of a person who has been left by their significant other. The singer is sitting alone, drinking and lamenting about how their partner has left them for someone else. They feel like they're drowning in sadness and can't seem to move on, no matter how much they try. They are constantly worried that their partner has gone away from them, that they are lost in somebody else's arms. The lyrics convey a sense of desperation and helplessness, as the singer can't seem to find a way to move on or let go of their past relationship.

As the song progresses, the singer becomes more and more frustrated with their situation. They feel like they've been betrayed and left to suffer alone, like they've been stabbed in the back. They don't understand how their partner could have left them stranded in a closet full of puddles, which could be a metaphor for the mess that their life has become. They're left wondering how they will ever be able to move on and face the future.

In the final verse, the singer appears to be pleading with their partner to come back to them. They ask for just one more day together, hoping that things won't ever change. They remember the good times they had together, and how much they enjoyed being in each other's company. However, the song ends on a downbeat note, with the singer once again lamenting their loss and wondering how they could have let their partner get away from them.

Favourite song, unbelievable amount of anger and angst in this one track. Puddle of Mudd are such an underrated band and should be much, much bigger.

Wes Scantlin: uma lenda viva, tal como o senhor Cornell ou Layne.

O rock nunca acabará, não importa quanto tempo passe.

Ele vive dentro de cada um de nós, como uma chama que nunca vai se apagar.

Obrigado pelos ensinamentos e letras, Puddle, vocês me trouxeram embasamento durante toda minha vida.

This dude sings from the first note to the last. There is not one noticeable break. Freaking amazing!

Michael Swartz

I never looked to deeply into this band, but I honestly think this song is one of the best hard rock tracks of the last decade.
