In The Morning
Razorlight Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I don't know what I'm doing wrong
Maybe I've been here too long
The songs on the radio sound the same
Everybody just looks the same

But then last night was so much fun
And now your sheets are dirty
The streets are dirty too but
You never look back over what you've done

Remember when you were young
You'd lose yourself
In the morning, you know you won't remember a thing
In the morning, you know it's gonna be alright

Wake him up, warm him up
Put him on the stage, well
The boy can't help it, it's not his fault
Just a dangerous, dangerous age

But then every night's still so much fun
And you're still out there darling
Clinging on to the wrong ideas but
I never regret anything I've done

Remember when you were young
You'd lose yourself
In the morning you know he won't remember a thing
In the morning you know it's gonna be alright

In the morning, you know he won't remember a thing
In the morning, you know it's gonna be all

In the morning, you know he won't remember a thing
In the morning, you know it's gonna be all
In the morning, you know he won't remember a thing
In the morning, you know it's gonna be alright

Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?

Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?

Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?
Are you really gonna do it this time?

Are you really gonna do it this time?
In the morning, you know you won't remember a thing

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Razorlight's song "In The Morning" explore the feeling of being stuck in a monotonous routine and wanting to break out of it. The singer acknowledges that they might be doing something wrong, but they can't quite figure out what it is. They feel like the radio plays the same songs and everyone looks the same. The only time they feel alive is when they let loose and have fun at night, even though they might wake up with dirty sheets and in dirty streets.

The song touches on the concept of losing oneself, which could be interpreted as getting lost in the moment or indulging in dangerous behavior. The singer remembers feeling that way when they were young and wishing to capture that feeling again. They might have regrets about their actions, but they still cling to the idea that everything will be alright in the morning, even if they won't remember what they did. The repetition of the line "Are you really gonna do it this time?" at the end could suggest that the singer is questioning whether they will ever break free from the routine and truly embrace the feeling of being young and alive.

Overall, "In The Morning" is a relatable song about longing for excitement and breaking free from monotony. It's a reminder to embrace youth and seize the moment, even if it means making mistakes.

No sé lo que estoy haciendo mal
Tal vez he estado aquí demasiado tiempo

X2

Tenes que hacerlo esta vez
Realmente vas a hacerlo esta vez o qué?
Realmente vas a hacerlo esta vez? Yeah!
Realmente vas a hacer qué?

Dose of nostalgia from every song from this era

this song brings back so many happy memories in high school with my friend, time seemed simpler and the music on the radio were tunes like this with artists that actually played instruments, miss those indie days, I wanna throw one of my friends some love as he's always been there for me, if a music producer now and heavily influenced by our high school indie days, try searching Lonely Gimmick - Grumpy Days, despite the name its a very happy indie track, its honestly such a great tune well worth a listen!
