Heard this song for many years, but it holds new meaning for me after seeing my mom, dad, and 2 dogs (ALL very dear to me) pass away in a span of just 1.5 years. Really hurts (posting with comment with a tear drenched face), even though knowing others have gone through the same in their own experience, it just really hurts. They'll always be with me, as the song says, as I continue on with life carrying on their memories.

I love this song. My husband died, but I feel he is still with me. We made a pact that whoever God took first, the other should find someone else to share a life with. That was the worst and most lamenting day of my whole life as a single Dad raising two kid's, my 17 years old son Clark and my 4 legged 🐶 families are my everything and the reason I still keep strong, and keep going! My late wife passed away three years ago from a shocking disease, I felt devastated with grief, and I was so heartbroken 💔 but God and time are indeed the best healers. Hope you’ve found peace, comfort and happiness again?

This weekend I met Stephen Curtis Chapman in person. He's one of the most humble, giving Christian man I've ever met. The love he and his wife bestowed on each other this weekend was just precious to me. I am especially appreciative to his daughter, Emily, my dear friend. Beautiful Song... I remember hearing it even before I knew who was husband was going to be. I listened to it intently and believed all the words. After 11 years of marriage, I won't deny it's ups and downs but when I said "I Do", I surely meant it with all my heart and I still do, even today. Could it have been easy to give up through life's roller coaster rides? Of course it would have, but when I said "I do", I not only said it to my husband, I said it to God and all those around us who witnessed our love and devotion to one another. whenever i hear this song, i am transported back to the days when i would be laying under the covers in my pink heart bed, room dark except for the light from the hallway coming through the open door, giving me just enough light to see my dad sitting at the foot of my bed with his guitar playing this song for me to fall asleep to.
i am 24 next week and i still see and hear it clear as day. My dad taught me so much about getting through life and about growing closer to God. Steven is such a proflific and amazing songwriter. All of his songs still speak to me musically now in 2018 although i lost faith years ago. I used to idolise him back when i was going to church tho lol

I first heard this in 1990 when I purchased the cassette tape from a Christian book and cassette store. Hearing it for the first time, I said to myself that if a DJ from a secular radio station hears this, he's gonna air it and it will be a big hit in the Philippine music scene. It happened. This song became famous in the Philippines years later but few people know that it is a Gospel song.

Alas, as a performer, it's very difficult to get through this song with a tear running down your cheek. This song is the most overlooked love song there ever was. Because of its simplicity, people dont take the time to listen to the whole thing. As such, it's meaning is lost.
