Soul of a
Heart of a champion
Mind of a
Soul of a
Heart of a champion

I was born to run
No waiting for the starting gun
There's no way I'm giving up
'Cause it's just not in my blood

I got fire from the stone
Blood from the ice
You don't know about the sacrifice
To get where I am
To do what I've done
I've got the heart of a champion
Fire from the stone
Blood from the ice
You don't know about the sacrifice
To get where I am
To do what I've done
I've got the heart of a
Heart of a champion

Mind of a
Soul of a
Heart of a champion
Mind of a
Soul of a
Heart of a champion

I know what it takes
'Cause I learned the hardest way
I think I'm starting to like the pain
Of getting knocked down and up again

I got fire from the stone
Blood from the ice
You don't know about the sacrifice
To get where I am
To do what I've done
I got the heart of a champion
Fire from the stone
Blood from the ice
You don't know about the sacrifice
To get where I am
To lose what I've won
I got the heart of a
Heart of a champion

Mind of a

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Champion" by Three Days Grace represent the mindset and determination of an individual who possesses the qualities of a champion. The repeated phrases, "Mind of a, Soul of a, Heart of a champion," emphasize the strength and resilience that this person carries within them.

The song begins by acknowledging that the singer was born with an innate drive to succeed. They have a natural inclination to run and push themselves forward, without needing any external motivation to begin their journey. This highlights their self-motivation and refusal to give up in the face of challenges.

The next verse conveys the sacrifices made to reach their current position. They draw fire from the stone and blood from the ice, implying that they have transformed difficult situations into sources of inspiration and determination. The sacrifices made are not known to everyone, showing that their struggles and hard work often go unnoticed. However, these sacrifices have led them to become who they are and achieve what they have.

The chorus reinforces the idea that the singer possesses the heart of a champion. They have experienced setbacks and obstacles along the way, but they have learned from them and developed a resilient spirit. They are willing to endure pain and repeatedly get knocked down, only to rise once again, showing their unwavering determination and willingness to keep pushing forward.

In the final verse, the singer reflects on the lessons they have learned through their journey. They understand what it takes to become a champion because they have experienced the hardships firsthand. They even admit to starting to appreciate the pain that comes with the process, as it fuels their growth and motivates them to keep striving for greatness.

Overall, "Champion" is an empowering anthem that celebrates the inner strength and resilience of individuals who possess the mindset of a champion. It communicates the message that success and personal growth require sacrifice, perseverance, and a strong heart.

@TheCluelessFew

This album is a mental health and almost sci-fi journey!

I have always been a strong supporter of Matt Walst, much to being hated by Gontier die hards, but this album proves that Matt has no limits.

Human was a teaser as he tried to find out what the fans truly wanted.

Outsider was very much him throwing the fans a passionate lifeline.

Explosions is throwing a middle finger up to those that still can't accept him.

After seeing and meeting him in Bristol, October 2018, I knew this man doesn't do this as a job.

He fucking loves us and every word that leaves his talented lips.

Compared to the Saint Asonia song that dropped today as well.

Well..

I love Gontier but this album shows that adapting is the way forward, tried and true is good, but this album is the definition of Three Days Grace.
