Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Destiny" by Infinite convey the message of an undying love between two people. The song talks about how one person cannot leave the other even though they want to, and how the other person is the singer’s destiny. Correct that it isn’t a debate- However, Destiny is woefully incorrect about paper ballots for electronic votes.
Also, utterly ignorant to the states with mail in ballots being contested simply because Trump didn’t win- NOT TRUE!
The major ISSUE was swing states breaking their own constitution/ voting laws under the guise of Covid.
People died for our right to vote- if you are too scared to get the sniffles to practice that honor in person, as the state you have chosen to live in requires- you deserve nothing.
If you have a VALID reason- ALL states accept mail in ballots at some capacity.
Lastly, there are states that Trump won who still strengthened/ made changes to ensure that similar shenanigans wouldn’t be attempted in the future. The states Trump “lost”, for example Pennsylvania and Michigan have (after the fact) admitted that their state violated their own constitution in the 2020 election.
Per Georgia law- it is forbidden to count votes without poll watchers from both parties present. Therefore, the “Pipe burst” aka the leaky toilet that sent everyone home- the handful of people who remained and started counting again was illegal.

Once you vote it prints out a paper you walk over to a scanner that tallies the votes the paper is collect at the end of the night , stored, and every ‘lock’ you touch has a security #. you have to write it down on an affidavit which you remove. If your shit doesn’t match or your tally doesn’t match the paper ballots collected your precinct WILL get a call

Every time a result is aggregated there are double-checks. There random audits, sometimes full recounts, and any close election gets an automatic recount.

The only centralized event is the counting of the electoral votes, and that’s mostly a formality - everybody knows way before then the winner.

Well both can be tampered with. Digital systems, while it might take more know-how, would overall be less work to tamper with. Since with paper voter forms, it would take a hell of a lot longer to disregard or change votes to the amount that it would take to effect the outcome of an election. Especially when around 150 million people vote in an election. With digital, you can have a program do it for you in no time at all.

Then it's fed into a machine and there is still a paper copy for audits. The simple answer is that as more people are born, we need electronic counting or add more people because of how long it takes to count and we want it done quickly. You notice how long absentee and mail-in ballots take? And people bitch about it. But, the more people you throw in, the more errors will happen, because people are people. To do it right, there would need to be two counts minimum. With people swapping groups of ballots in between to validate the counts of other groups. It all takes time, but right now, votes are required to be done in a specific time frame.

I know this Ian guy isn't the brightest tool in the crayon box (or however that phrase goes) but there is just something endearing about him. I don't think he's a bad dude at all, and the people calling him a grifter have absolutely no idea what that word means at this point. I think he's scared, and to a degree, he's probably correct to be so. But being a blanket 'skeptic' is just as silly as having complete, 100% faith in the system. Also, as someone who's worked on high security programming projects, having a program be entirely open-source is just asking for someone to find a crack in your program and exploit it. bro at some point you have to trust someone, you are asking to make the code public, you're trusting that the code is written well, you're trusting the person telling you that this is the correct code, you're trusting the person installing the machine that this is the right machine with the right code, you're trusting whoever is on the receiving end of that ballet whatever server that information gets sent to, you're trusting them to handle that data correctly, you're trusting the person who will tally the votes, there are so many points of failure, so many people that you're trusting in that process. It seems to me like you will only trust whoever tells you what you want to hear, and what you want to hear is that it is/was corrupt.

If you don't understand something, its very hard to trust it. If you dont understand multiple layers of all the different systems that make up todays world then you will always end up distrusting it or seeing conspiracies. We are truly on the shoulders of giants but with too little concept of our own history and how we really got here on average (especially true in the US cause the education system is dogshit and barely teaches any history or encourages learning beyond anything that makes money).

Even if you can see the code, the amount of people that can understand it properly is low. There is still trust required. Its very easy to obfuscate things enough that most people won't even notice.

While you're right, the intention of open source is not for everyone to understand the software, but to provide the transparency for people who have the knowledge to read the code.
E.g. everyone can look up the Linux Kernel source code, but only a select few understand or work on it.
Using this transparency on voting machines could have symbolic value. Even if most people don't know how to code, it instills trust to make the code public that actually affects the public. It also shows that the government trusts in its systems.
Also making code open source allows the public to identify potential security risks, which can be quickly fixed.
