Jump!
Jump!
The chorus of Zedd's song Shotgun seems straightforward with its exhortation to "Jump!" but taken in the context of the rest of the lyrics, it suggests a deeper meaning. The lines preceding the refrain speak of feeling overwhelmed and as though the weight of the world is on the singer's shoulders; they're feeling stuck and lost. The act of jumping becomes a metaphor for taking a leap of faith and embracing life, regardless of the obstacles. The repetition of the word is also crucial, accentuating the urgency and excitement of the moment. It's a call to action, to break out of the mundane and embrace adventure. The last line of the song, "We can fly," further emphasizes the theme of liberation and release.
The use of the word "shotgun" in the song's title is also significant. Traditionally, the term refers to the front passenger seat in a car. It's a position of power and control; the person riding shotgun can navigate or protect the driver. However, in the context of the song, it takes on a different meaning. Being in the shotgun seat represents being in the driver's seat of your own life, free to choose your direction and embrace new experiences. The metaphor is further reinforced in the lines "On the road, taking shots, making memories."
In summary, Shotgun is about breaking free from the constraints of everyday life and taking risks. It's a celebration of living in the moment and embracing the unknown.

and now his new song break free
all have the same exact drop, build (that plucky rising sound), very commercial, pop song
no sound elements like this song, raw glitchy, and STRAIGHT in your face kinda sound.
I think zedd is definitely one of the most talented producers out there, however being exposed to commercial music has made him very repetitive (I like zedd don't get me wrong). IF you really wanna hear how it started for zedd listen to dovregubben...

The reason it feels so much richer is because you get to see the roots of the song build up to the final product, as all the different progressions come together in one sick harmonic drop. 1, 2, 3 JUMP!

No, but it's a great blend of Genres and its outright fantastic!

This is fucking sick! You definitely need to hear on a good sound system but even then I understand why some people wouldn't like it. To, me however, this is the best song I've heard in a while. Never heard electro-house like this before.

What I like about Zedd is that he's very efficient. Porter Robinson who I feel is on a similar level musically, especially in Electro-house, tends to use way more sounds and effects to the point where the whole sound is a bit muffled. Zedd drops everything that doesnt need to be there and brings out everything important and only whats important. You can turn his music up SUPER loud and nothing is lost, because each sound is perfectly crafted and minimal.

Zedd <3 Good work man!

True that. His style is so much different than the average EDM producer, and this song proves it.
