Overall Meaning

In "Só Eu Sei," Gloria laments the neglect her personal circumstances have received. She feels that her affliction and panic were wrongly portrayed. The news of her plight was delivered with bombs and tractors, and her home is now a place of rubbish, tears, and terror. Gloria is the only one who knows the level of hell that this world has become for her. It doesn't matter where she goes; there is no escape.
Gloria expresses her displeasure with the system which has allowed greed to reign supreme. Deforestation is rampant, even when it is detrimental to the environment or the native population. She complains that riches pay off injustices, and the price of her life is nothing when weighed against the benefits others can gain. Gloria repeats very urgently the chorus, insisting that she alone understands the depth of the mess the world has become. She insists that to win, we must fight until the end and never lower our guard. The lyrics ask what we want from life and urge us to have the courage to accomplish it.
