he had nobody decent to fight. look at minimum weight fighters and see if any of them other than Lopez stick out as notably great fighters who will be remembered forever. none do and that's why he isnt the best, because he had nobody to fight but tomato cans. same thing with my favorite boxers of all time rocky marciano and butterbean . butterbean never fought any big names because no big names fought in the four round matches and Marciano was plagued with a weak era other than Archie Moore, Jersey Joe walcott, and ezzard charles . so despite being a very small cruiser weight he became the only undefeated heavyweight champ with only half the credit he might have been able to earn like Lopez.

+man of stone Hard to take this commentary seriously...Butterbean!? We are going to compare Butterbean to Lopez :D. First of all, how many fights over 5 rounds did Butterbean have...seriously, Lopez fought all the best fighters in his weight division, including wirld champions. Believe it or not, there are excellent fighters and world champions in every weight division--whether it's televised or not...that's jusy the way boxing works.

+primovid I know that butterbean didn't fight many people over 4 rounds because that was his specialty the four round champion he was. And out of over 100 fights he had to of fought at least a few exceptional fighters but nobody caress because they aren't big names. Lopez is definitely a more skilled boxer than the Eric esch but nobody thinks much or knows much of either of them. butter bean fights almost solely off of his toughman competition days in exception to a few striking tips he has learned from his trainer and other boxers and when considering that he has a 7:1 win/loss ratio with about 5/7 being kos that's pretty good and butter bean still fights to this day with amateur boxers and spars with a few pros. he even had a professional match last year. Lopez did fight great fighters but I am comparing them because they both fought no names and because of that they're not seen as boxing greats they are seen as a fat bum and a Spanish dwarf. ask casual boxing fans if they think either of them are worth shit and you will get no for butter bean and I don't know who that is for Lopez.
