Lonesome Town
06. Rick Nelson Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

There's a place where lovers go
To cry their troubles away
And they call it lonesome town
Where the broken hearts stay (lonesome town)
You can buy a dream or two
To last you all through the years
And the only price you pay
Is a heartful of tears (full of tears)

Goin' down to lonesome town
Where the broken hearts stay
Goin' down to lonesome town
To cry my troubles away
In the town of broken dreams
The streets are paved with regret
Maybe down in lonesome town
I can learn to forget (to forget)

Maybe down in lonesome town
I can learn to forget

(Lonesome town)

I work at this diner with a whole 50s theme and this song played when we were closing. It felt like a whole other world with this song just kind of echoing through the diner and bouncing off the neon lined walls while it was thundering outside. Definitely felt as if I was working at a diner in Lonesome Town.

Lmfao I literally quit a month after posting this comment because my boss’ dad would always yell at me in front of customers if I don’t serve him in .00005 seconds even though he doesn’t pay for the food.
