We Are Not Alone
1.8.7 Lyrics

I'm so alone, no one to talk to anymore
Eating my fears, Digesting all the pain
They all hate me for what I became
We are not the same (shall we dance)
We are not the same
We are not the same
We are not the same
We are not the same
We are not the same
We are not the same
We are not the same yeah
We are not the same
I'm so alone, no one to talk to anymore
Eating my fears, Digesting all the pain
They all hate me for what I became
We are not the same
We are not the same
We are not the same
The above lyrics are from the song "We Are Not Alone" by 1.8.7. The song seems to be autobiographical and tells the story of the artist's first date with a girl named Cathy. They went to St. John's Applefest, which was held every fall in the parking lot of the Catholic church that the artist had attended as a youth. The fair was full of cheap thrills and poorly-maintained rides. The artist and Cathy eventually ended up at the pirate ship ride at the far end of the fair. Cathy was nervous and hesitant to go on the ride, but she eventually did with the encouragement of the artist and their friends. During the ride, the artist observed Cathy holding on tightly to the safety rail, which made him abandon any romantic ideas he had of holding hands or embracing her.
The lyrics capture the awkwardness and nervousness that often comes with new relationships. The artist is trying to impress Cathy and make her comfortable, but her fear of the pirate ship ride ruins any chance of a romantic moment. The fair itself is a metaphor for the early stages of a relationship, full of excitement and uncertainty. The poorly-maintained rides represent the potential dangers and unexpected twists that come with any relationship.
Overall, the lyrics of "We Are Not Alone" are a nostalgic look back at a first date and the mixed feelings that come with it.

In the infancy of our relationship,
At the beginning of our relationship,
when we were almost exclusively hanging out
When we spent most of our time together
together with friends,

We went to St. John's Applefest
It was held every fall in the parking lot of the Catholic church
It was an annual event held in the church parking lot every autumn
I had attended as a youth,
I used to go there when I was younger,
converting the quarter-mile of parish grounds into a second-rate carnival
The church grounds were turned into a mediocre carnival
full of cheap thrills and poorly-maintained rides
With attractions that were inexpensive and in bad condition
We meandered through the crowds
We walked around the fairgrounds,
like tourists,
As if we were sightseeing,
eventually ending up at the pirate ship at the far end of the fair
We eventually made our way to the pirate ship at the far end of the fair

then swooped back down in the other direction like a swallow diving for insects)
then came back down in the opposite direction like a bird swooping down for prey)
Cathy was nervous and began to fidget, refusing to get in line
Cathy was anxious and started to move around nervously, not wanting to wait in line
before our friends and I talked her into going
But we persuaded her to join us on the ride
When the ride started,
Once the ride began,
any romantic idea I had of holding hands or an embrace
I had hoped to hold hands or embrace her romantically,
was quickly abandoned when I saw the white-knuckled grip on the safety rail
But I changed my mind when I saw how tightly she was holding onto the safety rail,
like she feared for her life
As if she was afraid for her safety

@VYD239 The fact that things aren't lining up as you expect is a sign that a boatload of micro-editing went into this, takes a lot of technical skill to do accomplish what she's done here.

I for 1 am disguruntled at the lack of production Chopping up tracks really grinds my gears. The thing about it is its a style that is its own. Thats what labels are for. Your own artistical expression. W/O that there would be no progression.

It's not meant to be a rip off. It's more of a tip of the hat, or a nod to the original, and 1.8.7. just took it in a direction he/she felt it should go.
