i listened to this album years before reading hs myself and i thought the cherubs were going to be a peaceful, village-dwelling fantasy species because of the musical aesthetic. this song especially gave/still gives me that vibe.

Uh, can I just say, I thought almost exactly the same thing? I listened to this album and thought that the two Cherubs in the artwork (Calliope and Caliborn) were going to be lovers or something, and that they came from the underworld or some such nonsense.
I was in no way ready for what Homestuck turned out to be.
