11:11 have been in the pipeline for some time, at first simply being a thought but slowly developing into a more serious proposition. On September 2008, their formation was confirmed when co-founders Chris and Stuart invited Euan and James to solidify the line-up and bring some noise. Drummer Gavin Wilson ended a four month search for a sticksman when he offered to drum for the band, and joined in January 2009.
The band's biggest inspiration is life in general; love lost and found, anger, the harsh reality of society, the media, disappointment at the powers that be, frustration at the action (and lack of action) taken by our World Leaders, poverty, war, needless bloodshed, lack of empathy for our brothers and sisters, and a general feeling that the world is not a nice place at all.

Not to be confused withTwo stoned kids from Santa Barbara that made music on mac instead of going to class.
And also not to be confused with 90's grunge band 11:11 from Guelph Ontario.

You don't have to want me
Don't even have to spend time with me
You don't have to go and buy me things
Just listen up when I start to talk
It's good enough
I don't want your body
It's your mind I want
I just want to tell you about the things I do (about the things I do)
And all the dates I had
And all the girls I screwed (and all the girls I screwed)
You don't have to be one of them (don't have to be one of them)
You just have to hear what I'm saying (ooh, yeah)
Just listen up
Just listen up
Just listen up
Just listen up
Just listen up
I just want to tell you about the things I do (about the things I do)
And all the dates I had
And all the girls I screwed (and all the girls I screwed)
You don't have to be one of them, no (don't have to be one of them)
You just have to hear what I'm saying (ooh, yeah)
You don't have to say you miss me
You don't have to put me on your wish list
Don't even have to go and post a pic
Don't even have to stop seeing other men
Just pay attention when I start dancing
With you love my love
Tell me all your secrets
And I will keep them forever hush
I just want to tell you about the things I do (about the things I do)
And all the dates I had
And all the girls I screwed (and all the girls I screwed)
You don't have to be one of them, no (don't have to be one of them)
You just have to hear what I'm saying (ooh, yeah)
Just listen up
Just listen up
Just listen up
Just listen up
Just listen up
I just want to tell you about the things I do
And all the dates I had
And all the girls I screwed
You don't have to be one of them
You just have to hear what I'm saying
The lyrics of 11:11's song "Listen" express the desire to be heard and understood on an emotional level rather than a physical one. The singer makes it clear that they don't require love, time, or gifts from their listener, but all they want is for them to listen when they talk. The singer emphasizes that it's their mind they seek, not their body. They reveal that the things they want to talk about are their experiences, including all the dates they had and all the girls they slept with, acknowledging that the listener doesn't have to be one of them.
The chorus of the song repeats, urging the listener to pay attention and just listen up. The singer also indicates they don't need grand gestures from their listener, such as being missed or featured on their wish list. Instead, they request that the listener ceases seeing other people and opens up to them about their secrets. The singer emphasizes they will keep these secrets forever hush. The lyrics indicate that the singer is content with merely being listened to and acknowledges that when the listener hears them, it ought to be enough.
Overall, the song's message seems to center around the importance of communication, listening, and emotional connection.
