The tune was most certainly enjoyed by Jamaicans, with a sprinkling of other nations. What you think of the verbiage is a matter of opinion. At the end the day, it's reggae music!

Kwekwe (Well, I’ve started, so I’ll finish). The tune had nothing to do with Dennis Bovell..and incidentally he is NOT British! The record was made and produced by Castro Brown’s & Dennis Brown’s label. The girls were probably born here, like me, but the black ‘British’ producers were nowhere to be found(?) They were first generation born (like myself) but they learned from the best. Even the instrumentalists who may have been born in the UK were Jamaican (or Bajan etc). So, don’t you come on here, talking about your ‘British’, I dread to think about what you say about reggae music today...hush...

Hi Sean. More like a skin tone bias. I'm not quite sure what they were supposed to be better at! Because as a lighter skinned member of the black race, while it's a great lovers rock tune, and im sure i got some sweet couples dance from it. It's utterly ambiguous. And I wondered if it included people of my tone or guys of the black race overall?? However I was much younger then and wanted things to be much more clarified. But you know what, great songs and great literature can be often ambiguous but it still doesn't take away their brilliance!!
The girls obviously saw a gap in the market and as is the audacity of youth, filled it with this astonishing tune!!!😍😍💞💖😎
