Overall Meaning

These lyrics describe the feeling of being in a dreamlike state, while riding a train and being surrounded by the scent of plastic and quietness. The singer appears to ponder if this is the way they should be feeling and if others feel the same way – unaware of their surroundings and absorbed in their own thoughts.
