1988年3月、黒川がバンドを脱退する。グループ名を『カルロス・トシキ&オメガトライブ』に変更する。
改名の理由として、「黒川が脱退した以上、1986オメガトライブではなくなった」ことと、「（1986という）ネーミングが古くなってきた」ことが挙げられている。
なお、改名に当たってスタッフとしては「もっとカルロスを全面に押し出したい」という意向があったが、本人たちは「あくまでも3人のバンドである」と考えていたため、スタッフの思惑通りにはいかなかったようである。
1988年7月、レコーディングにコーラスとして参加していたジョイ・マッコイが正式に加入する。
1990年、ワーナーパイオニアへ移籍(カルロス・トシキ&オメガトライブ名義で発売された全て楽曲は、原盤権がワーナーパイオニア（現・ワーナーミュージック・ジャパン）に譲移された)。松任谷由実が作詞・作曲した「時はかげろう」を発表後、ファイナルツアーを行い、1991年3月16日日清パワーステーションでのライブを最後に解散する。1990年12月14日放送の『ミュージックステーション』（テレビ朝日系）にて解散発表を行った。
2005年3月9日、ファンサイトの呼びかけを中心とした署名活動により、発売された楽曲[12]が全曲[13]収録されたCD＋PVや『歌のトップテン』に出演した時の映像を納めたDVDを収めた『COMPLETE BOX "Our Graduation"』を発売する。
代表曲は「君は1000%」（1986オメガトライブ）「アクアマリンのままでいて」（カルロス・トシキ&オメガトライブ）など。

When I first heard Carlos singing, I thought it was different Japanese accent than I usually heard but then found out it was Portuguese accent. It's so unique. I mostly heard English with Russian accent, or English with Japanese accent but I never think about other languages with other languages accents. Life is so colourful isn't ? <3
