1tym has been widely popular in Korea and Asia since the release of their first single and album, "One Time For Your Mind". The group's fresh hip-hop beats and R&B versatility (noteably their ease in transitioning from rap to soulful R&B) has won them success and to date they have released five albums: "One Time For Your Mind" (1998), "2nd Round" (2000), "Third Time Fo' Yo' Mind" (2001), "Once N 4 All" (2003), and "ONEWAY" (2005). 1TYM has also collaborated with the likes of fellow YG Family members, Jinusean and Lexy, and Big Mama, among others.
Following the release and promotion period of their latest album, "ONEWAY", 1TYM will be on hiatus for a few years due to Oh Jinhwan's mandatory military service. Teddy is working on his first solo album and Danny is planning the release of his second. Baekkyoung has now joined the group Moogadang.

The lyrics of 1TYM's "One Way" are about the group's journey towards success and how they persistently push forward despite the obstacles they encounter along the way. Teddy starts with a line that states, "Welcome back frozen-to-death guy, this is my house," which conveys how the group is so confident in their skills that they own the game, leaving their competitors "frozen to death." He then goes on to say "Knock-Knock, just stop imagining and be quiet," indicating that there is no need for distractions and that they want to focus solely on their craft. The song's hook, "ONE WAY, holding onto one dream tightly," emphasizes the group's unwavering attitude towards their goal, not willing to give up for anything or anyone.
Danny then takes over, saying he is rushing towards his final victory, representing the group's desire to take the number one spot in the music industry. The lyrics "Out the muhfuckin' window" means that he is leaving everything behind, the people who tried to stop them from achieving their dream, and are now going all-out towards their goal. Jin Hwan continues with the lines, "Everyone knows (we're fresh to death) if anyone won (there's one more left), we're always in front on this road," indicating that they know they are good, and there may be only one more challenge, but they are always ahead of everyone else in this competition. Baek-Kyoung finishes by saying that they do not have any guarantees on this road; it is all or nothing, but they are not afraid of the challenge.
