Based in the UK, the two musicians set out to create a multimedia project that would encompass a CD, DVD and cinematic presentation that would offer a complete artistic statement. The project offers music, digital video footage shot over the course of six months by Catto and Bridgeman, images, rhythms and spoken word content.
The first project features contributions from Dennis Hopper, Kurt Vonnegut, Michael Stipe, Robbie Williams, Tim Robbins, Brian Eno, Baaba Maal, Speech, Asha Bhosle, Neneh Cherry, Anita Roddick, Michael Franti and other artists and authors.
The band's theme for the project is "Unity Through Diversity".
1 Giant Leap's "My Culture" video, featuring Robbie Williams and Maxi Jazz from Faithless has received extensive airplay.
After nearly four years the new 1 Giant Leap project, currently titled 'What About Me' has been handed over by Duncan Bridgeman and Jamie Catto. Twelve films and twleve tracks about "...all the different ways we're mad...desperate, obsessed, neurotic, fixated...the insane ways we make ourselves unhappy..."
When Jamie Catto and Duncan Bridgeman joined forces to create the project 1 Giant Leap, they embarked upon a global journey that included Senegal, Ghana, South Africa, Uganda, India, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, America and Europe, equipped solely with a digital video camera, a laptop and a vision - to capture and weave together a unique fusion of sound, image and spoken word from some of the world's most happening musicians, authors, scientists and thinkers and to explore 'The Unity in the Diversity'.
Their treasure hunt brought many unexpected collaborations with such inspirations as Michael Stipe, Kurt Vonnegut, Tom Robbins, Dennis Hopper, Brian Eno, Asha Bhosle, and Baaba Maal. The resulting double-Grammy nominated DVD consists of 11 short films - INSPIRATION, MONEY, FAITH, SEX, DEATH, CONFRONTATION, TIME, BLASPHEMY, UNITY, MASKS, HAPPY, and 30 behind the scenes movies. You might have seen 'The Making Of 1 Giant Leap' which has been broadcast globally by National Geographic Channel. Or perhaps you've seen them playing live with their 10 piece band and cinema screens.

I won't try, I won't hope
'Cause if you stay
Or if you go
If you stay, or if you go
I won't try, I won't hope
'Cause if you stay, or if you go
'Cause if you stay...
Despair
Depression
Feeling abandoned
Lonely
Worthless
Frustrated
Worry
Doubting
Vunerable
Forgetful
Losing self confidence
Heavy
Irritable
Fear of the future
Obsessed with possessions
Meaninglessness
Friendlessness
Fear of being penniless
No-one to touch
Lost of psychological power... because there is change afoot.
Be with the changes, and at the same moment, cultivate equinimity, spaciousness, emptiness, awareness, clarity... may it be so.
If you stay, or if you go
I won't try, I won't hide
'Cause if you stay, or if you go
I won't lie, I won't try
'Cause if you stay
'Cause if you stay...
The lyrics of the 1 Giant Leap song “All Alone” describe a situation where the singer is facing an uncertain future, possibly due to a breakup or a significant change in their life. The repetition of the lines “If You Stay, or if you go / I won't try, I won't hope” and “'Cause if you stay, or if you go / I won't try, I won't hide” emphasizes the sense of resignation and acceptance to the circumstances. It is as though the singer is acknowledging that there is not much they can do to sway the course of events and that they have made peace with the unknown.
The other lines in the song express feelings of despair, loneliness, worthlessness, frustration, worry, and fear of the future. The repetition of the phrase “If You Stay” seems to be a plea for the other person to remain in the relationship or situation, but the singer is also letting go of control and learning to accept whatever decision is made. The final lines of the song, “Cause if you stay / Cause if you stay,” suggest a hopeful note, as though the singer is still holding onto some belief that things will work out in the end, but without expectation or pressure.

What's the meaning of this song? If anyone can help 🙏
@Total1Now
This is a song about what it means to be human at the deeper levels, and the ways in which we become disconnected from the essential self
@Total1Now
Such a brilliant track, but WTF can't the people posting this - credit the artists involved? At the very least you could credit Ram Das as the voice of compassion. FFS!!!
