21 Savage's debut studio album, Issa Album (2017), peaked at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 and its lead single "Bank Account" reached number 12 on The Hot 100. He then released the collaborative album Without Warning (2017) with Offset and Metro Boomin, with the song "Ric Flair Drip" peaking at number 13 on the Hot 100. 21 Savage featured on Post Malone's 2017 single "Rockstar", which reached number one on the Hot 100 and nominated for Record of the Year and Best Rap/Sung Performance at the 2019 Grammy Awards. 21 Savage was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on February 3, 2019. Officials revealed his status as a British citizen who entered the U.S. in July 2005 and unlawfully overstayed a H-4 visa that expired in 2006. He was granted bond on February 12 and released the next day, pending the outcome of an expedited deportation hearing, which was initially scheduled for April 9, but was later postponed indefinitely, with 21 Savage's lawyers stating he was legally residing in The U.S. for several years prior to the 2005 H-4 visa. 21 Savage's highly anticipated third album, Savage Mode II (2020), a sequel collaboration with Metro Boomin to their 2016 EP, debuted atop the Billboard 200, and spawned the U.S. top 10 singles "Runnin" and "Mr. Right Now" (featuring Drake).
On November 4th, 2022, 21 Savage would release "Her Loss", a collab album with Drake. It debuted at No.1 on the US Billboard 200. All 16 of its songs debuted on the Hot 100.

Wrap it up and ship it out
Wrap it up and ship it out
When the pack touch down, cost 21
I bought a F&N, hold 21
When I couldn't get a zip, I bought a 21
You ain't jump out in the streets 'til you was 21
I lost my bestfriend when I was 21
I'm Slaughter Gang bitch and I'm 21
I just flooded out my wrist, it cost me 21
Wrap it up & ship it out
Yeah, cooking up that shit inside my grandma house
Yo bitch, she love the gang, I put it in her mouth
I might tie yo kids up and pistol whip yo spouse
Hunnid gas bags, nigga trappin' out a loft
Disrespect the Slaughter Gang, I'll get you off
I had a lotta fake friends, had to cut 'em off
And I'll pay you for pussy, tell me what it cost
When the pack touch down, cost 21
I bought a F&N, hold 21
When I couldn't get a zip, I bought a 21
You ain't jump out in the streets 'til you was 21
I was in the booty club 'fore I was 21
I lost my bestfriend when I was 21
I'm Slaughter Gang bitch and I'm 21
I just flooded out my wrist, it cost me 21
I fucked ya bitch and passed her, it took me 21 minutes
Bitch I'm in the studio, I'll call you when I'm finished
Yo baby daddy broke, I bet you still eatin' Wendy's
I'm pourin' up syrup, bitch I don't drink Remy
I fucked ya baby momma then I nutted on her titties
I hit for 20 bricks and then I went and bought a Hemi
I'm a real street nigga, I got street niggas with me
And free Big Guwop 'cause these rap niggas bitches
When the pack touch down, cost 21
I bought a F&N, hold 21
When I couldn't get a zip, I bought a 21
You ain't jump out in the streets 'til you was 21
I was in the booty club 'fore I was 21
I lost my best friend when I was 21
I'm Slaughter Gang bitch and I'm 21
I just flooded out my wrist, it cost me 21
The lyrics of "Twenty1" by 21 Savage focus on the rapper's pride in his street credibility and his ability to make money through illegal means. The refrain, "Wrap it up and ship it out," refers to his drug dealing activities and the need to move quickly and efficiently in that world. The lines "When the pack touch down, cost 21/I bought a F&N, hold 21" suggest that the rapper makes a significant profit with each delivery and invests in firearms for protection. He asserts his toughness and willingness to use violence, rapping "I might tie yo kids up and pistol whip yo spouse," and boasts about his sexual conquests ("I fucked ya bitch and passed her, it took me 21 minutes").
The other verses add additional details about his life, including his early entry into strip clubs ("I was in the booty club 'fore I was 21"), the loss of a close friend ("I lost my bestfriend when I was 21"), and his association with the "Slaughter Gang." The repeated line "You ain't jump out in the streets 'til you was 21" suggests that the rapper sees himself as more experienced and skilled than others who entered the drug trade at a later age. Overall, the song presents a picture of a young man who is ruthless, confident, and unapologetic about his criminal activities.
